General Concrete Labourer & Finisher
Position Summary:
The General Concrete Labourer & Finisher is responsible for assisting with and completing a variety of concrete construction projects for residential, commercial, and municipal clients. This hands-on role includes site preparation, forming, pouring, finishing, and repairing concrete surfaces while ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and to the company’s quality standards. The ideal candidate is dependable, hardworking, experienced in concrete construction, and capable of working effectively in a fast-paced outdoor environment.
In periods where concrete work is limited, this individual will also assist with other landscape construction and hardscape projects including retaining walls, interlock installation, excavation, grading, and other related construction duties as required.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must possess a valid G-class driver’s license
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in concrete construction preferred
- Previous experience as a Concrete Labourer or Finisher considered an asset
- Ability to read and interpret site plans, grades, and measurements
- Experience with concrete forming, pouring, finishing, and curing processes
- Proficient in operating power tools, compact equipment, and hand tools
- Strong knowledge of concrete construction practices, materials, and safety procedures
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Physically capable of lifting 50 lbs and performing demanding labour tasks regularly
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Use of personal mobile device for communication, time tracking, and project coordination
Responsibilities:
- Assist with site preparation, excavation, grading, and layout for concrete projects
- Build and strip concrete forms for sidewalks, curbs, pads, driveways, and foundations
- Pour, spread, level, and finish concrete using hand and power tools
- Perform concrete finishing including floating, edging, broom finishing, and saw cutting
- Operate construction equipment and tools safely and efficiently
- Assist with retaining wall construction, interlock installation, and general hardscape work when required
- Perform general labour and construction duties related to landscape and site construction projects
- Ensure all work is completed according to company quality standards and project timelines
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment on all job sites
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
- Collaborate with crew members, supervisors, and project managers to complete projects successfully
- Assist with loading, unloading, and transporting materials and equipment as required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with decorative concrete, stamped concrete, or exposed aggregate considered an asset
- Experience operating skid steers, mini excavators, or compact equipment preferred
- Experience with retaining walls, interlock, and hardscape construction considered an asset
- Knowledge of concrete repair and restoration techniques is beneficial
- WHMIS, Working at Heights, or other construction safety certifications considered an asset

Pay: $28.00-$35.00 per hour
