Overview
The Cultural/Program Assistant plays a vital role in supporting community engagement and educational initiatives within our organization. This position involves coordinating cultural activities, assisting with program development, and fostering an inclusive environment for participants. The ideal candidate is passionate about cultural enrichment, possesses strong communication skills, and is dedicated to making a positive impact through leadership and teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Will be able to work under supervision of the Director of Program & Culture.
- Be able to transport daily.
- Support/assist with ceremony participation.
- Facilitate lunch programming.
- Assist in planning, organizing, and executing cultural programs and events.
- Collaborate with team members to develop new program ideas that promote cultural awareness and community participation.
- Provide guidance and support to clients, during various activities.
- Maintain a welcoming environment that encourages participation and inclusivity.
- Communicate effectively with participants, staff, and community partners to ensure smooth program operations.
- Contribute to outreach efforts to promote programs through various communication channels.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of First Nation Culture
- Have own transportation
- Valid Drivers Licence
- Criminal record check
- Vulnerable sector check
