Overview of role:
WestJet is seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Analyst to join the Loyalty Platforms team in our Commercial Technology office. This individual must be results driven, exhibit a high standard of excellence, and enjoy challenges. The incumbent must be highly motivated and thrive in a complex, fast paced environment.
As part of the Loyalty Technology team, the Senior Quality Assurance Analyst will provide leadership on quality tasks to improve the delivery of loyalty projects, features and enhancements. This role includes test case development, test data creation, execution of tests, defect management, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement of QA strategies and delivery.
This position requires an individual who demonstrates accountability, resourcefulness, determination, and a collaborative spirit.

Key deliverables include:
- Perform functional, non-functional, regression, API, integration and system testing in coordination with internal teams and external partners
- Collaborate with upstream and downstream teams and applications to ensure final capability and experience is correct
- Coordinate with project and support teams to complete performance, security, failover and recovery or other types of testing as required based on the project
- Demonstrated initiative to test from own understanding and experience rather than solely based on requirements or other information provided
- Create test plans and execute test cases to ensure feature or capability is implemented successfully
- Create and send testing summary reports for regular product releases
- Perform manual and automated API tests (ie Ready API or Postman) on integration platforms
- Assist in project/release/sprint planning for development of test strategies and plans
- Utilize various automated testing tools to script data creation or automate functional tests (UI and API)
- Identify, log and track defects and issues, and work closely with the development team to investigate and resolve in a timely manner
- Continually assess and improve the testing process, methodologies and techniques to improve test coverage and reduce cycle time
- Work closely with test automation team to explore and implement automation solutions for identified test automation opportunities
- Evaluate, document and communicate testing results to stakeholders to enable them to make decisions regarding release candidate or project health
- Maintain a positive attitude and contribute to the cohesion and effectiveness of the team
- Demonstrated initiative to test from own understanding and experience rather than solely based on requirements or other information provided
- Adapt and collaborate based on updated priorities and deliverables
Experience and qualifications:
- 7-10 years as a Sr QA Analyst
- Experience testing loyalty programs is an asset
- Experience testing integration applications and platforms including Azure API Manager, Confluent Kafka, GoAnywhere
- Comfortable with ambiguity and demonstrated resourcefulness in sourcing clarification of requirements to ensure the feature or project is of high quality
- Ability to develop a holistic view of an application and its integrations to identify critical dependencies and potential gaps in testing
- Understanding and practical application of software QA practices as it applies to different development methodologies
- Experience creating clear and concise documentation in the form of test strategies/plans/test cases/scenarios/checklists and defects
- Experience maintaining and executing automated Web Service and UI tests using tools such as Robot Framework in Python
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills using all mediums and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills combined with a positive attitude, taking a team-based approach
- Proven ability to meet timelines while delivering quality work
