BreakEdu is an educational agency that supports Korean international students attending secondary schools in Canada. We provide student management, academic guidance, guardian support, and administrative coordination to help students adapt successfully to both their academic and personal lives in Canada.
We are currently looking for an International Student Program Coordinator to join our team.
This role is not a general administrative assistant position. It requires professional communication, strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to follow through on student-related matters with responsibility and care.
The successful candidate will work closely with students, parents, tutors, schools, homestays, and internal team members to support the daily operation of our student management and academic support programs.
At BreakEdu, all student management records are organized through Notion, and regular student updates are shared through internal forums and communication channels. Therefore, this role requires strong computer skills, comfort with digital tools, and the ability to create and manage basic visual updates using tools such as Canva.
DutiesStudent Management & Support
- Support Korean international students with school-related, academic, and daily life matters.
- Assist with practical student needs such as hospital visits, bank-related support, public transit card purchases, and other settlement-related tasks.
- Monitor student concerns and communicate important updates to the appropriate team members.
- Follow up on student-related issues to ensure students are properly supported.
Academic & School Administration
- Support student registration, school communication, attendance tracking, course-related matters, and academic follow-up.
- Assist in organizing and updating student records, academic progress, and support notes using internal systems.
- Help coordinate communication between students, parents, tutors, schools, homestays, and partner organizations.
- Maintain accurate and organized records related to student management.
Tutor & After-School Program Coordination
- Assist with tutoring schedules, student academic support plans, and communication with tutors.
- Follow up on student progress, class feedback, and academic concerns.
- Support the operation of after-school academic support and student management programs.
- Share relevant student updates with internal team members as needed.
University Application Support
- Assist Grade 12 students with university application-related documents, timelines, basic guidance, and document review.
- Support internal preparation for university application planning, seminars, and student meetings.
- Help organize application-related information and student progress records.
Volunteer & Extracurricular Guidance
- Research volunteer opportunities and extracurricular activities for high school students.
- Provide announcements and assist students with registration or participation when needed.
- Support students in keeping track of extracurricular and volunteer-related updates.
Parent & Student Communication
- Communicate with students in person and through messenger in a professional and timely manner.
- Communicate with parents and partner organizations through messenger and email.
- Handle student and parent-related matters with patience, professionalism, and discretion.
- Communicate sensitive student-related information carefully and accurately.
Forum, Community & Internal Updates
- Post updates, announcements, event photos, student activity updates, and useful support information on the company’s internal forum or communication channels.
- Take and organize photos or short videos during student activities, events, seminars, and daily program operations when needed.
- Prepare and upload student updates, announcements, and related materials for parent communication and internal records.
- Maintain organized records of photos, documents, student updates, and program-related content.
Digital Content & Canva Tasks
- Create simple visual materials, announcements, and student update images using Canva or similar design tools.
- Support basic content preparation for parent communication, student updates, internal forums, and company promotional materials.
- Organize and manage digital files, photos, documents, and online content accurately.
- Assist with basic visual updates for forums, community posts, seminars, and student-related announcements.
Event & Seminar Support
- Assist in planning, preparing, and coordinating company events, student meetings, parent seminars, and student engagement activities.
- Support event preparation, attendance tracking, photo-taking, follow-up posts, and related administrative tasks.
General Administrative Support
- Prepare and organize documents, forms, records, and other administrative materials as needed.
- Support general office operations and other related duties as assigned.
QualificationsRequired
- Fluency in Korean is required.
- Strong English communication skills are required.
- Completion of Canadian high school or post-secondary education is preferred.
- Previous work experience in an office, education, customer service, school, or student-support setting is strongly preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Professional and mature communication skills.
- Ability to manage tasks independently and follow through without constant supervision.
- Ability to handle student and parent-related matters with responsibility, patience, and professionalism.
- Comfortable working in a small team environment where flexibility, ownership, and proactive communication are important.
Digital & Computer Skills
- Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new digital systems quickly.
- Comfortable using Google Workspace, email, cloud-based files, messenger tools, and online communication platforms.
- Comfortable working with digital databases, online documents, and organized record-keeping systems.
- Experience using Notion is preferred, but not required. Since all student management records are maintained through Notion, the candidate must be comfortable learning and using Notion for daily work.
- Experience using Canva or similar design tools is strongly preferred.
- Ability to take, organize, upload, and manage photos, documents, and student-related updates accurately.
- Experience posting updates on forums, blogs, community platforms, social media, or internal communication channels is preferred.
Preferred
- Experience in education, study abroad services, school administration, student advising, tutoring coordination, or youth support.
- Understanding of the Canadian secondary school system and university application process.
- Experience working with Korean international students or Korean families.
- Experience communicating with parents, students, schools, or education-related partners.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and complete follow-ups in a timely manner.
- Interest in student management, academic support, and education program operations.
Compensation
Wage will be determined based on relevant experience, communication skills, maturity, digital work skills, and the level of responsibility the candidate can take on.
Candidates with direct experience in education, student support, study abroad services, school administration, program coordination, parent communication, Notion, Canva, or digital content management may be considered for a higher starting wage.
Work Environment
This is an in-person position based in North York.
The role requires regular communication with students, parents, tutors, schools, homestays, and internal team members. The ideal candidate should be reliable, organized, comfortable with digital tools, and able to work professionally in a student-centered education environment.
This position is best suited for someone who has a mature work attitude, strong follow-through, and the ability to manage both student-related communication and detailed administrative tasks.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $20.00-$26.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
