Supply Chain Risk Analyst

Contract Length: 12 months
Work Type: Hybrid
Location: 200, 425 - 1st Street SW Calgary, AB T2P 3L8

Raise is currently hiring a contract team member on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader.

Job Overview:

This role is an individual contributor position focused on delivering high-impact, data-driven insights into global market trends, competing capital projects, tariff structures, and geopolitical developments that influence Enbridge’s supply chain.
The successful candidate will work closely with Supply Chain Management (SCM) Category Management teams to proactively identify risks, evaluate exposure, and develop strategies that protect cost competitiveness and ensure supply continuity.
This position serves as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor, translating complex external dynamics into clear, actionable intelligence that informs procurement and strategic supply chain decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Market Intelligence & Analysis

Monitor global commodity markets, including supply-demand dynamics, pricing trends, and key cost drivers affecting strategic categories.
Track competing large-scale projects (e.g., pipelines, LNG, renewables, data centers) that may constrain labor, materials, or supplier capacity.
Develop forward-looking market outlooks and scenario-based analyses to anticipate shifts and disruptions.
Synthesize macroeconomic, industry, and supplier-level insights into actionable recommendations for Category Management.

2. Tariff & Trade Policy Expertise

Monitor global tariff regimes, trade agreements, sanctions, and regulatory changes impacting sourcing strategies.
Assess both financial and operational impacts of trade policies on procurement categories.
Advise Category Management on duty mitigation strategies, including:
- Tariff engineering
- Country-of-origin optimization
- Supplier diversification

3. Geopolitical Risk Assessment

Analyze geopolitical developments (e.g., conflicts, elections, trade disputes, regulatory shifts) and assess supply chain implications.
Identify emerging risks across regions, suppliers, and critical materials, providing early warning insights.
Develop risk scenarios and conduct supply chain stress testing to evaluate potential disruptions.

4. Risk Mitigation & Strategic Support

Partner with Category Managers to identify supply chain vulnerabilities and co-develop mitigation strategies.
Support key initiatives such as:
- Dual sourcing strategies
- Regional diversification
- Inventory optimization
- Supplier risk management
Contribute to long-term category strategies with an emphasis on resilience, cost stability, and continuity.

5. Insight Delivery & Influence

Deliver clear, concise, and data-driven insights to SCM leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
Produce executive-ready reports, briefings, and dashboards.
Influence strategic and operational decision-making through expertise, without direct authority.

6. Tools, Data & Intelligence Frameworks

Leverage market intelligence platforms, trade databases, and advanced analytics tools to generate insights.
Maintain structured monitoring systems for market trends, tariffs, and geopolitical risks.
Continuously enhance intelligence methodologies, reporting quality, and analytical frameworks.

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Supply Chain, Business, Political Science, or a related field.
Minimum of 5+ years of experience in market intelligence, geopolitical analysis, supply chain strategy, or strategic sourcing.
Strong understanding of global trade policy, tariffs, and geopolitical risk factors affecting supply chains.
Experience supporting procurement or Category Management in a global organization is highly preferred.

Deep understanding of global markets, tariff structures, and geopolitical dynamics.
Ability to translate external trends into category-level insights and impacts.
Strong analytical capabilities, including forecasting, modeling, and scenario planning.
Solid understanding of procurement processes, cost structures, and supply chain operations.
Proven ability to influence stakeholders and senior leadership.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to distill complex information into clear, actionable insights.
Strong decision-making skills in ambiguous, rapidly evolving environments.
