JOB DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor. The Maintenance Technician conducts, maintains, tests and repairs electrical/electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and components. Applies knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical principles in determining equipment malfunctions and applies skills in restoring equipment to operation. Provides skilled mechanical and electrical/electronic support to all areas of Manufacturing

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Follow all required work safe practices. This would include but is not limited to: lock-out tag-out, PPE, confine space safety awareness, chemical safety, fall protection, etc.;
Perform all tasks in accordance with company safety and GMP policies/guidelines;
Troubleshoot, maintain and repair high-speed manufacturing, packaging and facility equipment;
Troubleshoot, maintain and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical/electronic equipment including but not limited to programmable controls, power supplies, drives, gages and test equipment;
Make adjustment to equipment ensuring the proper performance and safe operating conditions;
Assist maintenance personnel with technical troubleshooting;
Advise operators and line technicians of operation procedures and requirements for working safely with electrical/electronic and mechanical equipment and components;
Document and track all corrective and preventive maintenance performed, aiming to achieve maximum plant availability, with a target of zero unplanned downtime;
Perform preventive maintenance functions as directed;
Install equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications;
Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions;
Install, start up and shut down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures for machine activation and shutdown and in line with OSHA requirements;
Maintain cleanliness of work area;
Support and help implement continuous process improvements;
Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Technical Diploma or accredited apprenticeship program of the equivalent in a technical field;
Three (3) year applicable experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
Knowledge of electrical/ electronic components and equipment including the use of special instruments for diagnostic purposes;
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and effective communication with peers, supervisors;
