Full job description

An exciting and immediate career opportunity is currently available at WFCU Credit Union for a:

Commercial Analyst

As a Commercial Services Analyst, you will provide support to the Commercial Services department in the areas of credit underwriting and risk analysis. The Analyst team plays a key role in helping the Commercial Services department achieve its growth objectives while ensuring that sound lending policies and procedures are followed at all times.

Position Type: Vacant Position

Salary Range: $46,000 - 90,000

In summary, the Commercial Analyst will:

Report to the Team Leader, Commercial Analysts.
Provide assistance and support to Commercial Account Managers and Directors as required.
Coordinating and preparing annual reviews for borrowing members with a high level of quality so that the commercial portfolio remains compliant with the Credit Union’s established lending guidelines and FSRA best practices.
Assist in underwriting new lending opportunities for borrowers operating in diverse industries throughout Canada.
Oversee the administration and maintenance of a commercial portfolio consisting of commercial mortgages, loans, lines of credit and letters of credit to meet the borrowing needs of our members.
Provide ongoing credit risk analysis, loan structuring, and pricing for a loan portfolio to maximize returns while taking the least amount of risk.
Monitor the compliance of the commercial portfolio, including financial covenants and security.
Prepare written and electronic correspondence.
Complete all necessary reports and monthly logs of the assigned portfolio.
Demonstrate exceptional professionalism and confidentiality
Monitoring assigned loan portfolio ensuring commercial borrowing members adhere to the terms and conditions of their authorized credit facilities.
Adhering to and complying with established policies, guidelines and procedures with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

The “must-have” skills and qualifications that we’re looking for are:

The individual must possess a university level degree in a related field. An undergraduate degree in business is preferred
§General knowledge of financial statements and accounting practices is required
A high level of analytical ability, sound credit analysis, and exceptional business writing skills are required
Excellent computer proficiency operating Microsoft Office programs, specifically Microsoft Word & Excel

These additional skills are considered assets too:

2+ years of Commercial Lending / Banking Experience.
Experience working in the financial services industry.
