Full job description

Aplin is proud to partner with a long-time client in Edmonton to hire a Corporate Commercial Legal Assistant to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a highly professional and collaborative firm (in office/hybrid) that is known for its strong culture, supportive environment, and commitment to client service.

Position Overview
The Corporate Commercial Legal Assistant is responsible for providing legal and administrative support to lawyers within the Corporate Commercial Securities Practice Group.

Key Responsibilities

Preparing, drafting, and revising legal documents and correspondence
Coordinating the flow of documents between internal and external clients
Working proactively and initiating follow-up actions to expedite workflow
Transcribing digital dictation
Performing conflict searches, file openings, and file closings
Managing correspondence, booking appointments, and diarizing deadlines
Managing incoming mail and e-mail
Regular interaction with clients and other lawyers
Billing and other practice management tasks
Maintaining organized and complete files within an electronic document management system

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across the firm

Qualifications

Post-secondary diploma or certificate from an accredited Legal Assistant or Paralegal program, and/or successful experience working as a Legal Assistant
Minimum 2 years of experience in a busy Corporate Commercial practice
Strong computer and technical skills
