Full job description

We are currently recruiting for multiple Corporate Commercial Legal Assistant and Corporate Commercial Paralegal positions. Candidates must hold a CORES I or CORES II designation.

Our clients are actively hiring for these roles and are offering competitive salaries and strong benefits packages, commensurate with experience.

Position Overview:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following core duties:

Provide full scope legal administrative support such as document preparation, drafting letters, client correspondence, reporting materials preparation, and billing
Perform complex editing and formatting for correspondence and documents
Complete basic due diligence registry searches (Corporate Registry, Personal Property Registry, Land Titles, etc.)
Document management duties, including filing and diary system
Building a positive rapport with staff, lawyers and clients
Follow instructions and be able to thrive in a professional team environment

Key Qualifications and Education:

In addition to experience with the above, the candidate would have the following background, skills and experience:

A paralegal diploma or legal assistant certificate or diploma from a recognized institution
Minimum of three years of experience working in a fast paced corporate/commercial legal assistant role
APPRES certification
Experience with conveyancing software would be an asset
Has a high level of accuracy and strong attention to detail
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
The ability to prioritize work and meet tight deadlines
A positive, self-starter attitude with the ability to take initiative
A high level of professionalism while working closely with lawyers, staff and clients
