Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Shop Foreman to oversee daily operations within our service and maintenance facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, hands-on experience with heavy and industrial equipment, and excellent leadership skills. This role involves supervising a team of technicians, ensuring safety standards are met, and maintaining high-quality workmanship across various projects. The Shop Foreman will play a crucial role in coordinating repairs, maintenance, and operational workflows to ensure efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Duties

Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of technicians and mechanics working on heavy equipment, industrial machinery, and automotive repairs.
Review schematics, technical manuals, and repair procedures to guide troubleshooting and repairs.
Assign tasks based on skill level and project requirements while ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
Conduct quality inspections of completed work to verify compliance with industry standards.
Maintain inventory of parts, tools, and supplies necessary for maintenance tasks.
Train team members on proper use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other specialized machinery.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations related to heavy equipment operation, electrical systems, welding procedures, and general shop safety.
Communicate effectively with clients regarding project status or technical issues when necessary.
Document maintenance activities, repairs performed, and parts used for record keeping.

Experience

Proven experience in dealership service environments or heavy equipment repair shops.
Skilled in HVAC systems, welding techniques, electrical troubleshooting, and mechanical repairs.
Familiarity with automotive repair processes and schematics interpretation.
Hands-on experience with power tools, hand tools, industrial equipment assembly, and general maintenance tasks.
Strong background in heavy lifting techniques and safety procedures related to industrial equipment operation.
Previous supervisory or leadership experience as a Shop Foreman or Lead Technician is preferred.
Ability to read technical schematics and mechanical drawings accurately.
Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients regarding repairs or project timelines. This role offers an opportunity for a dedicated professional with diverse technical skills to lead a team in a dynamic environment focused on quality workmanship and safety standards.
