Senior Manager, Events and Catering

JOB OVERVIEW
Join our dynamic team as the Senior Manager, Events and Catering of the hospitality program for a top 5 bank at a world class facility with plans of expansion. This is a Monday – Friday operation with large scale conference & events, contemporary fine dining experiences.
We are seeking an experienced and innovative Senior Manager with a background in high end hospitality and large-scale banquets/events/conferences to lead the very ambitious program.
SUMMARY
The Senior Manager, Events and Catering is responsible for the management of Event Bookings and Concierge Program, ensuring successful planning and execution of events within the Conference Centre and Premium Dining Program. The Senior Manager, Event Bookings will directly supervise two Event Bookings Managers, two Event Coordinators, a Concierge Supervisor and 10 hourly Concierge associates. They will ensure that the guest service experience meets or exceeds the standards set by the Company and Clients.
The Senior Manager, Event Bookings will oversee the planning of small events and meetings, Workplace Catering Program, the Executive Committee Catering Program and will lead the planning of Medium Sized Conferences and Signature Events. The Senior Manager will collaborate closely with the Director, Event and Catering on large scale Signature Events and Conferences.
The Senior Manager, Events and Catering will also assists with the support of administrative and logistics planning for the F&B operations as needed.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position is responsible for the supervision of hourly concierge associates and salaried associates within the unit.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Concierge Program Management – 30%
· Inspire, motivate, and engage staff to prioritize excellent customer service and hospitality above all else
· Conduct regular assessments of the business needs and guest services to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization within the Concierge program
· Act as the primary point of contact for all feedback related to the concierge program from clients and end users
· Ensure contract compliance and service level commitments related to the concierge program.
· Provide ongoing day-to-day support for the concierge team and reinforce agreed upon SOPs.
- Leads weekly meetings and daily briefings for the Concierge team.
- Develops, monitors, and administers Concierge team member training cycles including onboarding for new associates, all programs, modules, workflow processes, and compliance.
· Tasked with assigning floor-specific duties such as but limited to: printing buffet labels, dietary labels, VMS QR codes, and ensuring proper distribution of name badges. Responsible for managing the hourly concierge team including recruiting, hiring, training, performance management, progression planning and corrective action - ensure optimum utilization of all associates.
· Responsible for the creation and maintaining the concierge schedule based on business needs.
Program Management – Event Bookings & Logistics Planning – 40%
· Ensure the planning and execution of high-quality meetings, conferences, and events, ensuring the highest standard of experience for event attendees.
· Collaborating with internal partners on the entire lifecycle for medium sized conferences and signature events including critical paths, resource allocation, sourcing of specific products, assignment of responsibility, management of logistics.
· Strategically assess current and future trends in the event landscape, finding opportunities to continually elevate and enhance guest experience.
· Work closely with team members to continually evaluate the events portfolio to strategically identify areas of opportunity and advancement
· Oversee the workplace catering program, ensuring the Event Bookings Manager is responding promptly to inquiries via phone or email. Work with the Event Bookings Manager to ensure Workplace Catering platform is kept up to date.
· Act as the main point of contact for all Executive Committee catering orders and liaise with the Operations & Culinary Team as needed.
· Frequently reviewing and spot-checking Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) prepared by the Concierge Team and Event Bookings Manager.
· Oversee the execution of events planned by both the Event Bookings Team and Concierge Team, are planned meticulously, and executed to meet client expectations and exceed organizational standards. Monitor event timelines, logistics, food & beverage to ensure efficient and effective operations.
· Collaborate with the Director, Event Bookings & Planning with the logistics planning for large-scale signature events and building wide initiatives. This involves coordinating with various departments and external vendors to ensure seamless event delivery.
· Ensuring exceptional client service and satisfaction throughout the event and planning and execution process. Addressing and promptly resolving issues and obstacles as they arise.
· Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
· Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in event planning and management.
· Provide regular updates and reports on event planning and execution status.
People Management – 30%
· Maintaining a professional standard with all interactions with clients and colleagues
· Responsible for managing the hourly concierge team and salaried Events Bookings Managers including recruiting, hiring, training, performance management, progression planning and corrective action - ensure optimum utilization of all associates.
- Ensuring that payroll and vacation pay of all hourly and salaried employees is done in a timely manner.
- Ensure consistent and equitable administration of human resources policies, procedures, and guidelines to facilitate effective employee relations
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
- Lead, mentor and develop the Event Bookings Managers, Concierge Supervisor and hourly concierge Staff.

QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or a related field.
· Progressive, substantial event experience, including +5 years of experience in planning, management, and execution of large-scale events.
· At least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
· Exceptional organization and project management abilities.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.
· Proficiency in event Management Software, EMS is a bonus.
· Creatively apply trendy food items and presentations to enhance food service operations.

Pay: $80,000.00-$88,000.00 per year
