Licensed Heavy Duty Mechanic / Millwright (Power Generation Technician)

Join a growing leader in power generation services. Gentech Field Services is seeking a Licensed Heavy Duty Mechanic or Millwright to support critical infrastructure across Alberta. This is a senior field role with strong earning potential and a clear path into leadership.

And we’re looking for a ticketed Journeyman Heavy-Duty Technician who can carry that standard forward.

The Role

We are seeking a Licensed Heavy Duty Mechanic or Millwright with strong experience in diesel engines and power generation systems. This is a senior field role with a clear path into leadership.

You’ll be responsible for:

Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel generators and power generation systems
Perform CSA C282 preventative maintenance
Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical failures
Complete engine overhauls and major repairs
Conduct load bank testing
Participate in on-call rotation
Communicate professionally with clients and team
Complete clear written service reports
Mentor junior technicians

Required Qualifications

Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic or Millwright (Red Seal preferred)
Strong diesel and generator experience
Electrical troubleshooting skills
Experience with CAT, Cummins, John Deere or similar
Diagnostic software experience
Must possess a complete set of Journeyman-level tools for field and engine repair
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record are critical
Willingness for on-call rotation
