This is a temporary role for eighteen months.
How you’ll make a difference: You’ll use leading edge tools and quantitative methods to connect people to healthy and safe workplaces through data-driven insights.
Where you’ll work
At WorkSafeBC, we offer a hybrid work model that combines working remotely, and in our offices, based on the operational needs of the position.
We’re looking for someone who can:
- Independently plan, prioritize, schedule, and complete complex multi-task workload of projects and activities to consistently meet deadlines

Gather information; summarize, verify and interpret data; assimilate technical and business information; and review relevant information with clients, co-workers, and contacts

Clearly and concisely present analysis results and recommendations both in written reports and verbally to individuals and groups of varying levels of expertise

Identify significant information from a variety of sources, collect and analyze data to develop, assess, and establish meaningful ways of grouping and transforming data to draw conclusions of underlying issues

Apply quantitative and qualitative research methods (e.g. statistical analyses, data modeling, text mining, machine learning, predictive analytics, sampling, survey and questionnaire design).

Apply strong Python and SQL skills to extract, transform, and analyze data efficiently and accurately
Your background and experience
- A master’s degree in a quantitative-related discipline such as statistics/mathematics, operations research, big data, data science, computer science, information technology, finance, business, management information systems, or engineering.

A minimum of three years of directly related experience in business intelligence, statistical analysis, strategic analysis, and/or advanced analytics.

Our benefits

Extra 4% of your salary in lieu of benefits and 4% in lieu of vacation from the day you start
Once you’ve worked for 1820 hours (approximately 12 months), you’ll switch to getting:
