A Volunteer Youth Softball Coach / Skills Clinic Leader is needed for our Non-Profit | Faith-Based Organization to help assist for our FREE PROGRAM FOR KIDS AGED 6-14 this summer!
Program Duration:
June 18, 2026 – August 27, 2026
Program Structure:
- 8 weeks of softball skill development clinics and training
- Followed by 2 weeks of organized games and gameplay implementation based on skills learned throughout the program
Commitment:
1 evening per week (Thursday evenings) 6:00 pm - 8: 00 pm
Approximately 2 hours per week

About the Canadian Christian Recreational Association (CCRA)
The Canadian Christian Recreational Association (CCRA) is a faith-based organization dedicated to building community through sports, recreation, mentorship, leadership development, and spiritual growth.

Volunteer Opportunity Overview
CCRA is currently seeking volunteer softball coaches, clinic leaders, and skilled softball volunteers to help support a FREE youth softball skills clinic for children ages 6–14.
This exciting clinic will take place Thursday evenings and will focus on:
- Fundamental softball skills
- Confidence building
- Teamwork and sportsmanship
- Leadership and mentorship
- Fun, active, and faith-centered programming
We are looking for positive, energetic, patient, and encouraging individuals who have experience with softball and a heart for helping children grow both on and off the field.
Key Responsibilities
Pitching Instruction (Underhand & Overhand)
Volunteers will help teach and demonstrate proper pitching mechanics for both underhand and overhand throwing techniques. Coaches should be able to provide age-appropriate instruction focused on control, form, confidence, and safe throwing habits.
Hitting & Batting Drills
Volunteers will assist with teaching batting fundamentals including stance, swing mechanics, timing, contact, and hitting confidence. Coaches may help run batting stations, tee work, soft toss drills, and situational hitting activities.
Running & Conditioning Drills
Volunteers will help lead basic running, agility, warm-up, and conditioning exercises designed to improve coordination, movement, speed, and athletic confidence. Activities should remain encouraging, energetic, safe, and age appropriate.
Fielding & Defensive Drills
Volunteers will assist participants in learning proper fielding mechanics including catching, glove work, throwing accuracy, positioning, and defensive awareness. Coaches may help organize station-based drills for infield, outfield, and team defense development.
Teaching Game Situations & Plays
Volunteers will help teach children how to execute softball game situations including rundowns, bunts, force plays, tagging, base coverage, relays, and basic team communication. Instruction should focus on helping youth understand gameplay in a fun, interactive, and encouraging environment.
Planning & Running Small Pickup Games
Volunteers may assist with organizing and supervising small scrimmages and pickup-style games that allow participants to apply the skills learned throughout the clinic. Coaches should help ensure gameplay remains safe, organized, inclusive, fun, and development-focused.
General Mentorship & Leadership
Volunteers are expected to help create a positive, respectful, faith-centered, and encouraging environment for all participants. Coaches should model sportsmanship, teamwork, patience, encouragement, and positive leadership throughout the program.

- Ability to commit to Thursday evening participation during the clinic season
