POSITION SUMMARY
The QAQC Director is responsible for leading, developing, and executing DEC’s Quality Assurance and Quality Control strategy across all data center construction projects. This role ensures that all construction activities meet or exceed contractual specifications, industry standards, and client expectations.
The QAQC Director will oversee project-level QAQC teams, establish standardized processes, and drive a culture of quality excellence across all phases of construction—from design review through commissioning and turnover.
The ideal candidate brings deep experience in large-scale, MEP-intensive, or mission-critical construction environments, with a strong track record of implementing robust QAQC programs and leading multidisciplinary teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESQuality Leadership & Strategy
- Lead the development and implementation of DEC’s company-wide QAQC program and standards.
- Establish quality benchmarks, KPIs, and reporting frameworks across all projects.
- Drive a culture of “build it right the first time” across all field and project teams.
- Provide strategic direction and mentorship to QAQC Managers and site teams.
Quality Assurance (QA) – Planning & Systems
- Oversee the development of project-specific Quality Management Plans (QMPs).
- Ensure proper integration of QA processes during pre-construction, design reviews, and procurement.
- Review and approve Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), method statements, and submittals.
- Ensure compliance with client specifications, contract documents, and applicable codes/standards.
Quality Control (QC) – Execution & Oversight
- Monitor field QAQC activities across multiple sites, ensuring adherence to approved plans.
- Oversee inspections, testing, and documentation of critical systems (MEP, structural, envelope).
- Ensure timely identification, tracking, and closure of deficiencies, NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports), and punch list items.
- Support commissioning and turnover processes to ensure quality deliverables.
Audits, Compliance & Documentation
- Lead internal and external quality audits across project sites.
- Maintain and enforce document control standards for QAQC records and reports.
- Ensure full compliance with ISO standards, client requirements, and regulatory codes.
- Develop standardized reporting dashboards for leadership visibility.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
- Work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, Engineers, and Subcontractors to embed quality into daily operations.
- Interface with clients, consultants, and third-party inspectors on all quality-related matters.
- Participate in project kickoff meetings, design reviews, and coordination meetings.
- Act as the primary escalation point for major quality issues.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
- Identify gaps in current QAQC processes and implement improvements.
- Leverage technology (digital inspections, QAQC software, data analytics) to enhance efficiency and traceability.
- Capture lessons learned and standardize best practices across projects.
- Support training initiatives to upskill teams on quality standards and expectations.
QUALIFICATIONSEducation & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field.
- Minimum 10+ years of QAQC experience in construction, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience in data centers, mission-critical facilities, or large-scale commercial/industrial projects.
- Strong background in MEP systems and commissioning processes preferred.
- Experience within EPC or design-build environments is highly desirable.
Skills & Competencies
- Deep understanding of QAQC systems, inspection protocols, and construction methodologies.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 standards and quality management systems.
- Excellent leadership and team management capabilities across multiple project sites.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to influence stakeholders and drive accountability across all levels.
- Proficiency in QAQC software, document control systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Certifications (Preferred)
- Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Manager (CQM), or equivalent
- PMP (Project Management Professional)
- ISO 9001 Lead Auditor Certification
- LEED Accreditation (a plus for sustainability-focused projects)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $140,000.00-$180,000.00 per year
