About the Role: (TERM POSITION) Until March 30th/2026

This position is to cover a staff that is on parental leave and will be returning in March.

We are looking for someone who is interested in covering this leave. This is a great opportunity for someone who is just starting out and looking for some extra hours.

Responsibilities:

Consistently represent YMCA’s values and mission, comply with all YMCA Policies, procedures and Provincial Licensing regulations

Work and communicate with a team to implement Child Care curriculum which may include Playing to Learn, FLIGHT and A Place to Connect.

Guide and redirect children in situations when conflicts arise using a variety of positive child guidance techniques

Ensure children are accounted for at all times

Treat all families respectfully, bearing in mind their values, culture and background

Build relationships with families and communicate, verbally and in writing on a daily basis

Commitment to Health and Safety and Child Protection Policies and Procedures

Attend all required professional development and training opportunities

Consistently provide a safe and clean environment following all cleaning procedures

Qualifications:

Experience working with children

Level 1, 2 or 3 Child Care Certification (or in progress)

Standard First Aid & CPR – C

Able to obtain a Police Information Check with Vulnerable sector check
