Who you are

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading the maintenance team with keen focus on improving machinery reliability, performance and safety. The person in this role will serve as a functional expert, providing knowledge and training not just to the maintenance team but the entire Northern Gold team concentrating on food safety, people safety and production efficiencies. This person will drive continuous improvement and training initiatives. The maintenance supervisor mentors all members of our team with the knowledge and expertise they possess and will gain.

Essential Job Functions

· Coordinate daily, weekly and monthly activities of the maintenance team, prioritizing efficiency of machinery functionality.

· Work alongside the maintenance and production teams to identify deficiencies and direct and / or implement corrective actions to enhance production throughput and efficiencies.

· Assign work, delegate tasks, and evaluate performance of maintenance technicians.

· Use and maintain CMMS for preventative maintenance requirements and equipment history, parts inventory, and other necessary records.

· Re-build and / or install equipment modifications per oral instructions, sketches, prints or samples.

· Provide automation troubleshooting for all systems in the plant.

· Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical manuals and machine operation manuals.

· Analyze equipment problems and breakdowns diagnosing causes and ensuring corrections for mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic repairs.

· Performs all supervisory duties such as performance evaluation and coaching, monitoring timekeeping entries, tracking attendance, to include regular one-on-one meetings with all technicians.

· Other duties, as assigned.

Essential Qualifications

· Technical training in related field with a minimum of 5 years maintenance supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment

· Demonstrated knowledge of preventative maintenance and parts inventory management systems/programs

· Experience with industrial automation, including basic instrumentation, PLC, VFD, and HMI knowledge.

· Knowledge and experience with automated packaging machinery, bakery processing equipment and building automation systems (BAS).

· Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate team members, and influence others

· Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate (verbal/writing) and present ideas effectively at all levels and with all customers, internally and externally

· Critical thinking skills with the ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems

· Ability to perform required tasks safely, in a fast-paced work environment; ensuring food safety, quality and efficiency standards are achieved

· Ability to work a flexible schedule, including overtime, weekends and holidays

Physical Demands

Standing and walking up to 12 hours
Able to lift and carry 25 to 50 lbs.
Able to continually bend, stoop, twist, use arms, wrists and hands (including grasping and squeezing) throughout shift
Able to occasionally kneel, reach above the shoulder, work at heights and climb steps with components weighing 25 to 50 lbs.
