- Contribute to end-to-end feature verification and validation of 5G RAN features across real network deployments — your work directly influences whether a release goes live

Support requirement analysis and feature impact assessments during integration and verification phases, building your understanding of how 5G systems are specified and tested

Execute system-level, regression, and stability testing using commercial UE and industry-standard test tools in lab and pre-customer environments — hands-on, practical, and technically rich

Develop troubleshooting skills by performing root-cause analysis across 5G RAN layers using logs, traces, and protocol analysis — one of the most valuable skills you can build early in your career

Participate in data-driven quality assessments, learning to identify key KPIs, counters, and failure patterns that inform real release decisions

Get exposure to customer validation, acceptance testing, and field-trial support — rare visibility into how lab work transitions into live global networks

Collaborate with RAN development, CI/CD, system integration, and customer project teams — you'll build a broad cross-functional network and a deep understanding of how large-scale software is delivered

Contribute to improvements in test coverage, automation, and verification frameworks — helping make the team better as you grow
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics & Communication, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.

0-5 years of experience in telecom software development or verification

Comfort working in a Linux environment — command-line usage and shell scripting from coursework or personal projects is a great starting point

A foundational understanding of 5G NR or wireless communication protocols (MAC, PHY, RLC, PDCP) — academic exposure is absolutely welcome

Basic knowledge of IP networking fundamentals such as TCP/IP, latency, and throughput

Strong analytical thinking and a genuine love of debugging and root-cause analysis

A collaborative, team-first mindset with the ability to work effectively across global, distributed teams
Nice to have:

Any hands-on experience with test tools such as TM500, QxDM, or Wireshark — even in a lab or academic setting

Exposure to CI/CD workflows or Jenkins pipelines through work experience, coursework or personal projects

Familiarity with cloud-native concepts, containers, or Kubernetes — increasingly important in next-gen RAN

Interest in how AI/ML is being applied to verification, analytics, or fault detection in telecom systems

Your Pay
The salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, and the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.
The salary range for this position is:
- Ottawa: $85,000 to $111,300
Short-Term Variable Compensation Plan (select if STV): Your pay also includes the opportunity for an annual bonus. Actual bonus payouts are based on performance of the business against the unit’s objectives, individual performance, and the individual bonus target. Certain eligibility and pro-ration rules apply.

Your Financial Security
We invest in both your short and long-term financial wellbeing. Ericsson’s Group Retirement & Savings Program offers an automatic 2% company contribution into the Pension Plan. Ericsson also offers a 50% match of employee’s contribution into the Registered Retirement Savings Plan, up to 8% of the employee’s contribution (maximum of 4% match). This leads to a total company contribution potential of 6%. Employees will also receive basic life insurance and basic accidental death and dismemberment coverage at two-times annual base pay at no cost, as well as short-term disability coverage. Employees also have the option to participate in Ericsson’s Stock Purchase Plan.
Your Time
Your work-life balance is important to us. New employees are provided a minimum of 18 days of accrued vacation, plus at least 3personal days, minimum 10 holidays, 1 volunteer day, and sick days. Please note paid time off is pro-rated based on the employee’s start date. Furthermore, Ericsson provides up to 10 weeks of paid maternity leave and 6 weeks of parental or adoption leave at 100% of pay.
