Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a professional and organized Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients. Excellent communication skills along with the ability to connect with our patients in a positive and pleasant manner is a requirement for this position. This role is essential in ensuring smooth daily operations and providing excellent patient service. Prior dental knowledge is mandatory. Prior dental experience is an asset but we are willing to train the right candidate. The position offers an opportunity to work in a supportive environment that emphasizes teamwork and patient care excellence.

Responsibilities

Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, creating a welcoming atmosphere.
Manage multi-line phone system to schedule appointments, answer questions, and provide information.
Verify patient insurance details and update electronic medical records accurately.
Collect patient information and ensure all necessary documentation is completed prior to appointments.
Confirm upcoming appointments and follow up with patients as needed to reduce no-shows.
Handle billing procedures, including processing payments and explaining financial policies to patients.
Maintain organized front desk operations, including filing, data entry, and managing correspondence.
Collaborate with dental team members to facilitate smooth office workflow and exceptional patient care.

Skills

Proficiency with dental practice management software such as Abeldent.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dental care.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in managing electronic medical records.
Exceptional communication skills for handling multi-line phone systems and patient interactions.
Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
Office experience that demonstrates administrative competence in a healthcare setting.
Familiarity with front desk responsibilities, including appointment scheduling, billing, and insurance verification. This position requires a dedicated individual committed to providing outstanding administrative support within our dental practice while ensuring a positive experience for every patient.

Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
