Job Title: Manager of Fund Development
Location: Winnipeg – hybrid (at program locations and remotely)
Salary: $58,000 – $65,000 per annum
Type: Full-time (37.5 hours/week); some evening and weekend work as required
Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Manager of Fund Development executes strategic planning and leads the fundraising team to advance U-Turn Parkinson’s (U-TurnPD’s) activities. They work closely with the management and staff, finance and administration, communications, and other departments of the organization to engage with donors, sponsors, foundations, business partners, and governments to generate and maintain sustainable revenue.
Responsibilities:
The incumbent’s responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Implementing innovative fundraising strategies:
o Creating and executing strategic fundraising plans in collaboration with the Board, management, and employees to achieve short-term and long-term goals.
o Researching, assessing, and recommending new fundraising options and techniques based on the organization's beliefs, strategic priorities, and program activities.
Developing and managing relationships with donors:
o Building and maintaining strong relationships with individuals, annual, monthly and mid-level donors.
o Expanding the donor base by identifying and cultivating new potential donors.
o Managing donor communications and ensure transparent reporting.
o Ensuring donor retention and engagement.
o Creating compelling proposals, budgets, reports, and other grant documents for high-net-worth individuals, foundations, and corporate fundraisers, including sponsorships.
o Planning and coordinating creative, smart, and impactful appeals, campaigns, and activities to engage online and in-person donors.
Grantsmanship:
o Developing and managing grant proposals to secure funding for organizational needs.
o Managing grant deadlines, procedures, and plans
Maintaining and updating the case for support:
o Using compelling data and storytelling to keep the case for support current and effective.
o Collaborating with the communications team to promote fundraising efforts.
Event Coordination:
o Supervising the organization and execution of special fundraising events and activities.
o Planning and executing fundraising events to engage donors and boost organizational revenue.
Teamwork:
o Working with management to achieve ambitious revenue targets that support the organization's mission.
o Providing regular reports to management on fundraising plans’ progress.
o Working with the communications team to develop comprehensive communications plans to promote the organization to its donors and maximize public awareness of its fundraising activities and to convey the power of collaborative action to external partners.
· Performing other related duties as required.
Requirements:
· A bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, or other related field.
· Minimum 3 years of experience in a not-for-profit development role with a demonstrated track record of meeting fundraising goals preferably in a managerial capacity.
· Ability to develop and implement innovative fundraising strategies.
· Demonstrated experience in non-profit grant writing, individual giving programs, donor management, and management of government grants and contracts, event planning.
· Experience working in a cross-cultural environment.
· Proven ability to analyze constituent and donor databases;
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Asana, Keela, and Raisely an asset.
· Experience in leading and managing volunteers.
