Job Summary
The Hyatt Place Vancouver Metrotown is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Assistant Controller to join our finance team. This role is essential in supporting the financial operations of the hotel, ensuring accuracy in accounting practices, and maintaining compliance with company policies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, proficiency with various accounting software, and excellent analytical skills to contribute to the hotel's financial health and operational efficiency.

Duties

Mundi Hotel Enterprises Inc. has an immediate opening for an Assistant Controller position in our Burnaby office to keep up with the demands of the growing company. The ideal candidates will work closely with office staff and responsible for supervision of the full cycle accounting and reporting for a group of properties within the company and reporting the results to the CFO and owner.

The duties will include but not be limited to:

· Oversee Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll and day to day operations for accuracy and completeness.
· Set up new companies for new projects and accounts as required
· Balance intercompany accounts
· Monthly/quarterly financial reporting to CFO and lender reporting
· Monitor internal controls to ensure that they are working effectively and efficiently
· Ensure compliance with taxation authorities, both Federal and Provincial
· Year End Financial statements preparation with account reconciliations
· Liaison with external accountants
· Assistance with budget preparation and monthly cost monitoring
· Supervise, delegate and provide guidance and leadership to team members

Qualifications

· Enrolled in or graduate of the CPA program.
· Familiarity with Microsoft office including Word, Excel and Outlook
· Experience with Sage, Quick books and other accounting software
· Excellent written and oral communication
· Ability to multitask and prioritize
· Attention to detail and dependable
· Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
· Problem solving and organizational skills

Job Type: Full Time

Salary : Commensurate based on experience.
