WSP’s RPM team is one of the most established and exciting teams in Canada. The team consists of environmental technicians, project coordinators, project managers, technical experts, and qualified professionals. We have been providing contaminated site program management services to the worlds most technically focused companies for over 15 years. We consistently have backlog of 9 to 12 months and provide growth opportunities for our high performing team members. We specialize in health and safety, Phase I/II ESAs, risk assessment and remediation. Our team takes on the biggest Canadian projects from coast to coast to coast. The projects range in type, size and complexity, and the successful candidate will be able to utilize the team strengths to manage a large amount of field work efficiently and effectively.

We have an opportunity for an Environmental Project Controller to join our team in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan or Ontario. The Remediation Program Management team is a national team serving large clients across Canada. We are known for providing top quality technical work to our clients. Many of our clients are long term clients that seek WSPs expertise in managing the assessment and remediation of their Sites. In this Project Controls Support role you would be responsible for supporting Project Managers, Project Accountants, and Management control the financial performance of projects. Supporting from project inception to closure and becoming an integral part help us steward best financial controls practices and deliver projects profitably.

Your Impact

Collaborate with project managers, project accountants, and finance teams to track and control project costs.
Work with the project team to monitor the progress of deliverables, tasks, and the overall project using earned value principles.
Monitor project progress and performance, identifying deviations from the plan and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
Prepare and present regular project status reports to stakeholders, highlighting key metrics and potential risks.
Conduct cost analysis and forecasting to ensure project budgets are adhered to and financial targets are met.
Produce forecasts through project completion utilizing ETC and EAC principles.
Support project management processes, including opening, closing, and quality assurance procedures.
Track change requests to ensure regular follow-ups.
Perform other assigned or required tasks related to the management and control of projects, costs, and schedules.

The Skills That Set You Apart

Post secondary diploma or degree in accounting/finance, business administration, or other relevant training.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in project controls or project management, preferably in the engineering or construction industry.
Proficiency in project finance software such as Oracle, or similar tools.
Familiarity with project planning software (MS Project or Primavera P6) is considered an asset.
Ability to multi-task, work on several projects or tasks at once, manage time, organize, and set priorities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Compensation
AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $50,500 – $66,800
MB & ON: $46,000 – $63,400
NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $45,600 – $60,500
