About Us

Power Drilling and Stabilization Ltd. provides geotechnical construction services such as soil nailing, shotcrete placement, anchor installation, pipe piles, seismic anchors, cut-off walls, and emergency slope stabilization for infrastructure, mining, commercial, and residential construction projects. Based in Langley, BC, PDS brings over 30 years of combined industry experience to each project, delivering precise and reliable drilling and stabilization services across British Columbia and beyond.

Position Summary

Power Drilling and Stabilization Ltd. is seeking an experienced and dependable Foundation Drilling Foreman to lead field drilling operations and supervise crews in a safe, efficient, and professional manner. The Foundation Drilling Foreman will report to the Drilling Superintendent and is responsible for overseeing daily site activities, coordinating manpower and equipment, ensuring quality workmanship, and maintaining compliance with company policies, client expectations, and applicable safety standards.

This position is hands-on and requires strong technical drilling knowledge, leadership capability, and the ability to work extended hours as operational needs require.

Key Responsibilities

The Foundation Drilling Foreman will be responsible for:

· Supervising and directing drilling crews on site

· Planning, organizing, and coordinating daily drilling activities

· Ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications

· Operating and overseeing the operation of drilling equipment and related tools, as required

· Conducting pre-job planning and daily tailgate or toolbox meetings

· Monitoring crew productivity, job progress, and quality of work

· Ensuring proper setup, maintenance, and safe use of equipment and machinery

· Identifying and resolving field issues such as ground condition changes, equipment breakdowns, or specification deviations in a timely and practical manner

· Coordinating with project managers, superintendents, clients, inspectors, and other site personnel

· Training, mentoring, and supporting crew members to ensure safe and effective job performance

· Enforcing company safety procedures, site rules, and regulatory requirements

· Completing required documentation such as daily reports, hazard assessments, timesheets, inspection records, and equipment logs

· Ensuring materials, equipment, and personnel are available to meet project needs

· Monitoring site conditions and adjusting to maintain safe and productive operations

· Reporting incidents, deficiencies, equipment concerns, and project updates to management promptly

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

· Minimum 5 years of experience in a foundation or geotechnical drilling foreman, lead hand, or senior drilling role

· Strong knowledge of geotechnical drilling operations, equipment, and field safety practices, including experience with excavator-mounted drills, hollow bar/self-drilling anchors, grout batch plants, and high-pressure air compressors

· Demonstrated leadership and crew supervision experience

· Ability to read and interpret project drawings, site instructions, and work plans

· Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in a field environment

· Clear and effective verbal communication and organizational skills

· Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage changing site demands

· Valid Class 5 driver’s licence (Class 3 or higher an asset)

· Physical ability to work in outdoor and field conditions, including lifting, standing, walking, and working extended hours as required

· Occupational First Aid Level 1 (OFA Level 3 an asset); WHMIS 2015; relevant WorkSafeBC certifications as applicable to scope of work

Working Conditions

· Field-based position requiring work at various job sites

· Work may involve outdoor exposure to changing weather and site conditions

· Overtime and extended workweeks of up to 60 hours per week may be required based on project demands

· Out-of-town and remote project work is a regular component of this role; camp or hotel accommodation will be provided where applicable, along with a daily subsistence allowance

Compensation and Expectations

This position pays $45.00 to $50.00 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role. The successful candidate must be willing and able to work additional hours, including up to 60 hours per week, as needed to support project and operational requirements.

Pay: $45.00-$50.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 60.0 per week
