Full job description

Job Overview
Newco is currently seeking a reliable and motivated Shop Assistant/Parts Delivery Driver to join our team at our Heavy Duty Mechanic Shop in Mt. Pearl. This role involves supporting daily operations within our shop environment, assisting with inventory management, and pick up/delivery of Parts. The ideal candidate will be proactive, possess strong communication skills, and have experience working in a fast-paced setting. On the job training will be provided.

Job Duties

Assist with moving and organizing stock within the shop using appropriate equipment such as forklifts.
Load and unload materials safely, including heavy lifting tasks.
Support inventory management by stocking shelves
Operate company vehicle for pickup and delivery of parts
Pickup and delivery of parts to support the shop technicians
Matching and sourcing parts required for in-shop equipment repairs
Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure safety and efficiency.
Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
Tidying and organizing shop
Support Technicians as needed
Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures
Other duties as required

Requirements

Valid Class 5 Drivers License (Class 3 would be an asset) with clean Drivers Abstract
First aid certificate considered an asset
Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks regularly.
Physical requirements of this position include the ability to push, pull, drag, and lift items up to 50 pounds, and occasionally must work at shoulder level with equipment weighing up to 25 pounds
Experience operating a forklift.
Strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members
Ability to move efficiently within the shop environment, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Work hours may require overtime, weekends and/or holidays.
Must have own transportation to and from work
