Your Role at Cabot

Cabot has an exciting opportunity for a Stores Supervisor to work in our Sarnia Carbon Black Manufacturing Facility. Cabot is a leading player in the carbon black industry, dedicated to delivering high-quality products and sustainable solutions. We are seeking a skilled and motivated Stores Supervisor to join our dynamic team and contribute to the continuous improvement of our manufacturing facility. The Stores Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the stores and inventory control function at the facility. This role ensures safe, efficient and accurate management of inventory, materials, spare parts and supplies required to support production and maintenance activities. The Stores Supervisor maintains the inventory accuracy, coordinates procurement activities, and collaborates closely with maintenance, operations and supply chain teams to ensure uninterrupted plant operations. The Stores Supervisor provides leadership to one direct report and maintains a focus on safety and environment while meeting all stores’ requirements.

How You Will Make an Impact

Provides Leadership & Supervision to maintain and improve safety, efficiency, productivity and employee skill development. Promotes a cooperative and positive work environment with cross-functional teams. Organizes daily tasks and workflows to ensure effective accomplishment of operational objectives.
Maintains Inventory & Material Management monitoring parts requirements and order materials to maintain optimal inventory levels. Identifies aged, slow-moving and obsolete items. Supervises receiving activities and handles special orders, inventory repairs and urgent requests. Coordinates annual inventory counts.
Coordinates Suppliers & Purchasing initiating and monitoring purchase orders for inventory items, repairs, consumables and operational supplies and ensures timely delivery of materials. Works closely with Source-to-Pay (S2P) and procurement teams regarding sourcing strategies, supplier relationships, logistics, category tenders, service requirements and cost optimization.
Provides Maintenance & Operational Support by collaborating with the maintenance department to ensure required parts and materials are available for scheduled maintenance activities, repair jobs and plant turnarounds. Supports internal and external customer schedule requirements in alignment with operational priorities and strategic plans.
Accurate Reporting & Recordkeeping completing all required reports, records, measurements and documentation including inventory records, department payroll authorizations and operational reports. Ensures departmental adherence to company internal control requirements, policies and procedures. Maintains overall security and inventory control measures within the stores area.
Supports Safety, Health, Environment and Security supports implementation and maintenance of the Responsible Care® Management System in line with the requirements of the RC14001® technical specification, as applicable. Coaches, monitors and trains employees to promote accountability and task performance to Cabot standards. Promotes and enforces all company safety standards, environmental requirements and safe work practices.

What You Will Bring to Cabot

Technical knowledge of manufacturing processes and product technology.
Understanding of product specification and inventory management principles.
Basic purchasing and procurement fundamentals.
A self-starter with excellent time management, problem solving and organizational skills including the ability to prioritize work in a fast paced and evolving environment.
Proficiency with ERP, inventory management and Microsoft Office systems.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills.
Ability to effectively engage in verbal and written communications that are timely, concise and clear.
Ability to negotiate with external stakeholders.
Commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Education and Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent required
Certified in Planning and Inventory Management (CIPM) preferred
Minimum 4 years' experience in a manufacturing environment

Salary Range : The pay range for this role is from $66,000 to $90,000. The actual compensation offered to the successful candidate will depend on the candidate's skill, qualifications and experience.
