As a Senior Lead Frontend UI Developer, you will play a critical role in simplifying and modernizing sales and trading applications for our internal salespersons and traders. You will be instrumental in driving the development and implementation of cutting-edge application systems and programs, leading advanced applications systems analysis and programming initiatives, and collaborating closely with our Technology teams to deliver innovative and robust solutions that enhance the user experience for our Fixed Income Sales and Trading desks.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate strategically with cross-functional management teams, specifically supporting Fixed Income Sales and Trading desks, to ensure seamless integration of functions, identify critical system enhancements, and facilitate the successful deployment of new products and process improvements aimed at simplifying and modernizing applications.
- Tackle and resolve high-impact technical and business challenges through in-depth evaluations of complex business processes within sales and trading, system processes, and industry best practices.
- Leverage deep expertise in application programming to guide design decisions, ensuring all solutions align with the overarching architectural blueprint and cater to the specific needs of sales and trading workflows.
- Identify synergies across various use cases, design and develop common, generic UI components applicable across multiple applications and business lines to significantly boost efficiency and productivity.
- Establish and enforce high standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation, drawing upon an advanced understanding of system workflows and user experience in financial applications.
- Cultivate a holistic understanding of how various business domains, including architecture and infrastructure, interoperate to achieve strategic business objectives, with a strong focus on empowering salespersons and traders.
- Conduct thorough analyses and apply critical thinking to identify root causes, conceptualize, and deliver innovative solutions that streamline and modernize existing applications.
- Mentor and guide mid-level developers and analysts, providing technical leadership and effective work allocation on projects related to sales and trading application development.
- Ensure all technical and business decisions are made with a keen awareness of risk, upholding Citigroup's reputation and safeguarding its assets. This includes strict adherence to compliance, regulatory requirements, ethical standards, and transparent reporting of control issues.
Qualifications:
Required:
- 6+ years of hands-on experience with Angular (version 15+ required).
- 6+ years of experience in Node.js, Docker, Web Services, and designing/implementing distributed architectures.
- Proven experience developing real-time messaging systems (e.g., WebSocket), crucial for high-performance trading applications.
- Strong understanding and practical application of Test-Driven Development (TDD) principles.
- Proficient in using source control software, particularly Git.
- Demonstrated success in leading and managing complex projects focused on application modernization.
- Exceptional ability to adapt and re-prioritize in a fast-paced environment characteristic of financial markets.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and business stakeholders.
A Plus:
- Solid and demonstrable understanding of Fixed Income and Derivative products, and the workflows of sales and trading desks.
- Knowledge of Oracle RDBMS, MSSQL, or Apache Pinot.
- Knowledge of technologies like .NET/WPF or Java Swing.
- Desirable: 6+ years of experience with React (version 18+).
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent practical experience will be considered.
- Master's degree is a plus.
