Full job description

TG Minto Corporation is a division of Toyoda Gosei, a World-class automotive supplier with 67 group companies in 17 countries. With locations in Palmerston and Stratford Ontario, we are a tier 1 supplier of interior/exterior assemblies for Toyota/Lexus and Honda/Accura. Our main processes are plastic injection molding (including processes such as two shot, gas assist etc.), paint, thermoforming, and PU injection. Compensation and Benefits

Starting wages of $21.63 per hour
Paid overtime after 40/hours per week

SUMMARY

The OJT Trainer will be responsible for training, mentoring and coaching Production Team Members. The goal of the trainer is to help new employees get acclimated to the company, deliver on-the-job training to set them up for job success and provide coaching to existing employees that have areas of opportunity. This role will support and drive participation of training activities at the facility. A successful candidate in this role will thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, enjoys problem solving, and will have a passion around training and developing others.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support the new hire onboarding process
Act as a mentor by being a resource, providing support and helping new hires feel like part of the team
Deliver training to help employees develop skills to carry out expected role
Provide coaching to existing employees that may require additional development
Accurately record and document completion for employees in training
Monitor and follow up on all expired trainings, including pending and aged OJTs
Support training coordination efforts, including monitoring completion status in the Learning Management System (LMS)
Provide accurate training status updates to TG University and Supervisors
Work with multiple leaders to efficiently and effectively communicate, or escalate issues through the proper channels for resolution
Foster a positive team dynamic that encourages employees to ask questions, provide feedback and adapt to the ever-changing demands of their work, while remaining steadfast on producing quality parts
Identify and communicate any gaps and needs
Assist with other projects as needed in support of Manufacturing Operations
Must be able to maintain confidentiality regarding employee information

QUALIFICATIONS

Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite and LMS)
Fluency in more than one language would be an asset

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEs

College education, specialized training in Education, Learning and Development or related field OR Two+ years of related work experience in a manufacturing environment
