The opportunity:
Reporting to the Associate Vice-President, Advanced Wealth Planning the Wealth Planning Innovation Intern will play a key role in supporting and advancing the team's use of AI, automation, and technology to improve planning efficiency and service delivery. This role contributes to AI-driven initiatives designed to streamline AWPG operations, enhance knowledge management, and strengthen data and reporting capabilities across the team.
Working closely with the Advanced Wealth Planning Group and cross-functional partners, the Wealth Planning Innovation Intern will help explore and implement smart technologies that reduce manual effort and enable scalable, insight-led operations.
This internship offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of wealth planning service delivery through applied AI, automation, and data analytics, with hands-on experience on real-world projects that support team leadership and drive meaningful operational outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
Automation & Workflow Optimization
- Identify recurring inquiries and process bottlenecks, and develop automated workflows to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
- Apply AI and automation tools (including Microsoft Copilot) to eliminate manual, repetitive tasks, streamline responses to plan inquiries, and generate actionable insights.
- Document and promote best practices in AI tool usage and prompt engineering to support effective adoption across AWPG.
Knowledge & Content Management
- Utilize generative AI capabilities to design templates, summaries, and dashboards that drive consistency and support informed decision-making across AWPG.
- Document and promote best practices in prompt engineering, including training staff to support effective adoption of Microsoft Copilot across AWPG.
- Develop and maintain an organized SharePoint directory of AWPG reference materials, leveraging AI tools to enhance content structure, tagging, and searchability.
- Manage the full lifecycle of AWPG thought leadership content, leveraging Microsoft Copilot to support content creation, updates, review cycles, and continuous improvement.
Analytics & Reporting
- Design and develop Power BI data models and dashboards to support executive reporting and AWPG planning.
- Support strategic AWPG initiatives by collecting, analyzing, and presenting data from multiple sources (e.g., plan tracker, website analytics, Conquest, mailbox, SharePoint) to report on business outcomes.
- Enable leaders to track progress against service delivery goals and identify trends, opportunities, or early indicators of risk.
Operations & Service Excellence
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders (IT, Finance, Marketing) to implement integrated solutions and support AWPG initiatives.
- Support the evolution of AWPG service delivery toward proactive, insight-led, and digitally enabled operations.
Collaboration & Support
- Perform additional AWPG support responsibilities as required.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a program in Business, Finance, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or related field.
- Some experience in a client-service, operational, or project support role is an asset.
- Previous internship or co-op experience in financial services, wealth management, or a related field is an asset.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Familiarity with Power BI or other data visualization tools is an asset.
- Basic knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python, SQL, or VBA) is an asset.
- Strong interest in AI tools and prompt engineering, with a practical orientation toward real-world use cases.
- An ability to craft effective prompts for Microsoft Copilot to deliver accurate and actionable outputs.
- Capable of managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines in fast-paced environments.
- Proactive and eager to learn, with a drive to improve systems and processes.

- Effective problem-solver with strong organizational skills.
