The Lazy Gourmet has provided exceptional culinary experiences in Vancouver for over 45 years. We are recognized for our creativity, use of fresh local ingredients, and excellent hospitality. We meticulously prepare everything from plated dinners to catering boxes and high-profile events. As part of Compass Group Canada, we also provide national support, growth opportunities, and access to a network of culinary professionals.

Job Summary

Managing a catered event requires solution-based thinking, speed and sense of urgency while following timelines, as well as attention to detail for service floor plans and table maps for plated dinners. This is a leadership role that requires managing the on-site staff and keeping everyone on task, while also overseeing the entire scope of service and liaising with our clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Catering Supervisor is responsible for managing staff and following timelines for event setups and service.
Ensure all food is presented, served, and displayed per standards.
Loading vans with catering supplies and ensuring all items are accounted for.
Driving to event locations.
Quick, efficient decision making.
Return food and beverages, serving equipment and utensils to catering facility

Qualifications:

Must drive and have a valid BC Driver's Licence. MANDATORY.
Excellent customer service skills.
Adept at conflict resolution.
Advanced problem solving and delegating skills.
Confident leadership qualities including staff motivation, staff direction.
Good attention to detail
Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
