About Sula Café

Sula Café is an exciting new café concept opening in Vancouver, inspired by the rich traditions of tea, coffee, and hospitality. Our vision is to create a warm and welcoming gathering place where guests can enjoy handcrafted chai, specialty coffee beverages, fresh pastries, and light café fare in a vibrant and inviting atmosphere.

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Café Manager to join our opening leadership team and play a key role in building a successful café operation from the ground up.

Position Overview

The Café Manager will oversee all aspects of daily operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, strong team performance, and efficient business operations. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone who thrives in hospitality, enjoys developing teams, and is committed to delivering outstanding service and quality.

As part of a growing brand, you'll have the opportunity to help shape the culture, systems, and guest experience of Sula Café from day one.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage daily café operations to ensure smooth and efficient service.
Recruit, train, coach, and motivate café team members.
Create staff schedules and manage labor costs effectively.
Maintain high standards for beverage preparation, food quality, cleanliness, and presentation.
Monitor inventory levels, place orders, and manage vendor relationships.
Control food and beverage costs while minimizing waste.
Handle guest feedback and resolve concerns professionally and promptly.
Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety regulations.
Review sales reports, analyze performance metrics, and support budgeting initiatives.
Collaborate with ownership on marketing, promotions, seasonal offerings, and operational improvements.
Foster a positive workplace culture focused on teamwork, hospitality, and excellence.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of management experience in a café, restaurant, or hospitality environment.
Strong leadership and team-building skills.
Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
Experience with scheduling, inventory management, and cost control.
Knowledge of food safety standards and operational best practices.
Experience with POS systems; Micros POS experience is considered an asset.
Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays as required.
Passion for hospitality, specialty beverages, and creating memorable guest experiences.
