Job Summary:
We currently have an open position for a Production Planning Supervisor to join our team on the day shift (7:00 am - 3:30 pm). This role is responsible for preparing daily production schedules for our Hervo Street location. The planning supervisor is responsible for ensuring the ERP system is fully maintained and accurate, that all necessary campaign information is provided to the production team, and that all raw materials are available to sustain production schedule requirements. A strong communicator, the production planner will build lasting customer relationships and act as the primary point of contact on scheduling, reconciliation and materials management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with operations to create an efficient production schedule in support of on-time customer delivery requirements
- Maintain a rolling 3-week production plan
- Continuously monitor and report production progress against production plan and works collaboratively with department managers to ensure on time delivery
- Perform capacity analysis based on production levels, quantities, production flow, throughput standards and equipment availability for the purpose of maximizing line and labor utilization
- Work closely with Production Managers, Site Managers and Lab Managers to identify and solve challenges that create gaps between expected and actual performance
- Responsible for ERP bills of materials (BOM) maintenance and accuracy
- Ensure raw materials, formulated bulk, packaging materials and finished goods inventory levels are accurate and up to date within ERP system, and aligned with customer systems
- Coordinate end of campaign counts and reporting to end customer
- Monitor inbounds of customer owned raw materials, coordinate any follow-up as required
- Initiate stock transfer of raw materials from other Future Transfer facilities
- Communicate and collaborate with customers to navigate schedule changes, ensure daily reporting needs are met
- Supervise Production Administrators, establish daily priorities, provide training and support as required.
- Responsible for work order generation
- Responsible for accurate preparation and assembly of document packages including campaign start-up documentation, shift QA documents, labels and appropriate routing for all aspects of production
- Ensure maintenance of customer ERP systems based on customer requirements (SAP, Portals etc.).
- Respond to general customer inquiries, escalate as required
- Participate and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Understand, support and uphold all safety regulations and requirements as put forth by government legislation and the Company
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business management or related field is preferred
- 3- 5 years’ experience in production planning and in a multifaceted manufacturing environment is required
- Experience supervising staff and coordinating daily workflow priorities
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications, expert level in Excel
- Experience in material requirements planning (MRP) and related software
- Excellent organization, planning, communication and time management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
