Position Summary

The Hangar Operations Agent serves as a primary visual ambassador of the FBO, blending hands-on facility care with premium hospitality. This active role ensures that the hangar, ramp, and surrounding facility areas consistently reflect the elite standards expected by corporate, private, and VIP aviation clients. Operating with high autonomy and keen attention to detail, this team member proactively manages the facility’s presentation and safety to deliver a seamless, first-class arrival and departure experience for our clients. Weekly schedules fluctuate based on flight operations and client activity levels.

Key Responsibilities

Hands-On Facility & Grounds Maintenance

Keep the hangar interior clean, organized, and work-ready at all times.
Perform routine cleaning of floors, storage rooms, tools, and equipment.
Complete minor repairs, basic maintenance tasks, and assist service providers as needed.
Carry out seasonal outdoor work, including:
Snow removal from walkways and operational areas
Lawn and grounds maintenance during spring/summer
Identify maintenance needs proactively and address issues before they become problems.

Vehicle, Equipment Support & Customer Service

Safely move, park, and handle customer vehicles as part of valet service.
Operate basic facility equipment and tools confidently and responsibly.
Perform general labour tasks including lifting, moving, and organizing materials.
Help with luggage, vehicle staging, and general customer needs.
Support daily operations in a hands-on capacity wherever needed.

General Operational Duties

Marshaling & Towing: Use hand signals to guide pilots during arrival/departure and operate tow tractors to position aircraft.
Interior Upkeep: Perform cleaning activities such as dusting and mopping, and complete minor repairs (e.g., fixing light bulbs, doors, or filters).
Ramp & Airfield Safety: Conduct daily inspections of aircraft maneuvering areas and ensure walkways are clear of debris (FOD).
Equipment Servicing: Monitor facility supplies and perform routine maintenance on aircraft support equipment like air compressors and fueling systems.
Valet & Staging: Move and park customer vehicles and organize materials as needed for daily facility activity.
Documentation: Record maintenance tasks, report equipment defects, and manage administrative paperwork as required.

Scheduling & Flexibility

Weekly hours vary based on weather, customer needs, and facility activity.
Must be available for early mornings, evenings, weekends, and occasional on-call periods.
Adapt to shifting priorities and tasks in a fast-moving environment.

Qualifications

Experience in hands-on, physical, or outdoor work such as construction, landscaping, facility/maintenance, warehouse, mechanical, automotive, labour, or similar roles.
Comfortable using basic tools, equipment, and performing general maintenance tasks.
Strong work ethic with a self-starter mindset — sees what needs to be done and does it.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently without constant supervision.
Good communication skills and a customer-friendly attitude.
Ability to lift, move, and carry materials; comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all seasons.
Valid driver’s licence with clean driving record.
