KT Softlogic Consulting INC is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Tax Accountant to join our new tax office in Kelowna. We are looking for a qualified and client-focused accounting professional with strong expertise in Canadian taxation, accounting, auditing, and financial management.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Chartered Accountant (CA), Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), or CIMA-qualified professional or B Sc. graduate in Management or Finance who is passionate about delivering high-quality tax and accounting services while contributing to the growth of a professional accounting practice.

About the Role

The Tax Accountant will oversee tax and accounting operations, manage client relationships, supervise staff, and ensure compliance with Canadian tax regulations and cross-border reporting requirements. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting knowledge, leadership skills, and excellent communication abilities.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and review corporate and personal income tax returns in compliance with Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) regulations and filing deadlines
Prepare and file U.S. tax returns
Manage GST, payroll, T4, T5, and other statutory filings
Record financial transactions and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, management reports, and statistical reports
Perform budgeting, forecasting, reconciliations, and financial analysis for clients
Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks and tax software such as TaxCycle to manage financial records and prepare financial reports
Process payroll calculations, deductions, remittances (CPP, EI, and income tax), and year-end reporting requirements
Communicate professionally with clients to collect documentation and provide accounting and taxation guidance
Review and analyze financial statements to determine tax liabilities and recommend strategies to improve financial efficiency and long-term financial stability
Supervise, mentor, and support junior accounting and bookkeeping staff
Manage office workflow, deadlines, and client deliverables in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA, or CIMA qualification preferred
3–4 years of progressive experience in taxation, accounting, finance, or auditing
Strong knowledge of Canadian tax laws, CRA filing requirements, accounting standards, and audit procedures
Experience in public practice, tax consulting, or accounting firms preferred
Internal auditing experience will be considered an asset
Excellent client relationship management and communication skills
Proficiency in QuickBooks, Microsoft Office, and tax/accounting software
Experience handling corporate and personal tax clients
Experience providing payroll and bookkeeping services
IRS-approved PTIN certification will be considered an asset
