Located in Stony Plain, Alberta, North Central Co-op provides goods and services to our local communities within Stony Plain, Edmonton, Fort Saskatchewan, Spruce Grove, St. Albert, Legal, Sherwood Park and Edson. We are proud of our 100,000+ member-owners, our 650+ team members throughout our 20+ Gas Bars, Home Centre, 4 Cardlock/Bulk Fuel Stations, 6 Food Stores, 6 Liquor Stores and Administration Office, in addition to future growth.

We invite applications for the position of Meat Manager to join our team at our Orchards Food Store located in Edmonton, AB. Open availability is required.

What you’ll do:

The Meat Manager will prepare, administer and manage the sales margins, expenses, inventory and spend of the meat department. Ensure a positive customer experience by offering a friendly greeting and engaging with customers with a high-level of product knowledge to assist with purchase decisions.

Responsible for the overall operations of the Meat Department
Ensure adherence to the departmental budget.
Oversee daily operations in the Meat department to maintain excellent customer experience
Oversee inventory control, ordering and receiving for the department
Ensure the Meat department is appropriately merchandised including tagging and pricing accuracy
Maintain customer standards by tracking, monitoring and following up with customer concerns
Participate in the recruitment, training, development and performance management of all team members in the department
Ensure proper preparation of promotions and displays are completed

Who you are:

You are looking for a career in Retail Store Operations and:

Post-secondary education in related field is an asset
3 years experience within a meat department
Leadership experience is considered an asset
Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills
