Full job description

Pulse Cardiac Centre is a multidisciplinary medical clinic focused on caring for patients with heart disease and cardiovascular risk factors. We are seeking a part-time Registered Cardiology Technologist, RCT, to join our team.

This role is well suited to someone who is professional, reliable, detail-oriented, and calm under pressure. The successful candidate will be empathetic with patients, communicate clearly with physicians and staff, and be comfortable working both independently and as part of a clinical team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Diagnostic Procedures

The Cardiology Technologist will be responsible for performing and supporting a range of cardiac diagnostic procedures, including:

Preparing and assessing patients before diagnostic testing, including confirming patient identity, reviewing relevant medical history, explaining procedures, and obtaining or confirming required consent.
Providing patient education and answering questions to help patients feel comfortable and informed.
Performing electrocardiograms, ambulatory ECG monitoring, treadmill exercise stress testing, and ambulatory blood pressure monitoring.
Monitoring patients during and after exercise stress testing according to clinic protocols and under appropriate physician supervision.
Scanning and analyzing test results, identifying abnormal or unexpected findings, and alerting physicians as appropriate.
Preparing, organizing, processing, reporting, and filing test results accurately and efficiently.

Quality Assurance and Clinic Operations

The successful candidate will also help maintain high clinical and operational standards by:

Cleaning equipment according to established clinic standards.
Maintaining and troubleshooting equipment.
Gathering relevant data for quality control audits.
Responding professionally to patient concerns and escalating issues when appropriate.
Helping identify process improvements to reduce recurring workflow or patient-care issues.
Maintaining patient confidentiality, professional boundaries, and ethical standards.
Assisting with inventory management and ordering supplies.
Assisting with test-related documentation and MSP billing workflows as needed.
Helping ensure the clinic remains clean, organized, and welcoming.

Requirements

Completion of a recognized Cardiology Technology diploma program.
Current Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists, CSCT, certification and membership in good standing, or eligibility for registration if recently graduated.
Experience with ECG, Holter scanning, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, and exercise stress testing is preferred.
Current BLS certification required, or ability to obtain before start date.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Comfort using EMR systems and cardiac diagnostic software.
Ability to recognize urgent or unexpected findings and escalate appropriately.
A professional, compassionate approach to patient care.

What Pulse Cardiac Centre Offers

Wage: $35.00 to $42.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Part-time weekday schedule — 1 day per week.
Hours between 7:30 am and 3:00 pm.
No evenings.
No weekends.
