Position Overview

Reporting to the Director, Benefit Systems, the Data Analyst will play a crucial role in gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data to provide actionable insights and drive informed decision-making across various departments within the organization. The Position requires a strong analytical mindset, exceptional problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of business processes and objectives.

Job Responsibilities

Collaborate closely with various departments within the organization to understand and collect business requirements, gather data, analyze insights, and provide actionable recommendations to support decision-making.
Support data migration, data transformation, and data cleansing of structured and unstructured data.
Ensure data quality and integrity through regular validation and troubleshooting of discrepancies.
Develop, enhance, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports, ensuring accuracy, usability, and real-time insights.
Communicate findings, present insights, and provide regular updates on key performance indicators (KPIs) and business metrics to support strategic planning and decision making.
Perform data analysis to verify accuracy and integrity across datasets.
Implement and conduct data audits and validation to ensure system data aligns with established business rules.
Collaborate with team members to analyze data, identify trends, and develop insights that drive business outcomes and achieve project goals.
Provide training and support to internal users, including executives, managers, and frontline staff, on how to use BI tools, interpret data visualizations, and leverage analytics insights effectively to ensure that users have the necessary skills and knowledge to make informed decisions based on data.
Engage in continuous learning and professional development to stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data analytics and business intelligence.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or diploma in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
5 years of experience working as a Data Analyst or similar role.
Proficiency in SQL, data visualization tools, Power BI, and Microsoft Excel.
Certifications in business intelligence or data analytics (e.g., CBIP, Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate) are considered an asset.

Familiarity with API integration (PowerShell, REST APIs) is considered an asset.

Strong understanding of data management principles and best practices.
Experience with ETL tools and frameworks.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
Demonstrated technical proficiency to apply knowledge of grammar, punctuation, structure, spelling, tone, proofreading, clarity, and organization.
High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office 365.
Provides and practices sound judgment using independent decision-making.
Sound analytical thinking, planning, and prioritization skills.
High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability.
High attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong problem identification and resolution skills.
Ability to use tact and diplomacy when handling sensitive information.
Effective delivery of complex information in a clear and concise manner.
