Position Overview:
At Clarington Kia, the Licensed (310S) Automotive Technician plays a vital role within the service team, overseeing the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of vehicles in accordance with dealership and manufacturer standards. This position ensures that all customer vehicles are serviced safely, efficiently, and accurately, demonstrating strong attention to detail and advanced technical and mechanical proficiency.
What You’ll Do:
- Conduct thorough inspections in accordance with dealership standards and manufacturer guidelines, accurately diagnose issues, and complete repairs as outlined in repair orders.
- Perform routine maintenance services, including oil changes, tire rotations, transmission services, battery replacements, and headlight/taillight installations.
- Work closely with Service Advisors and the parts department to provide clear and timely updates on repair status, provide updates on additional repairs needed or delays encountered, and verify parts availability.
- Complete warranty repairs according to manufacturer guidelines, ensuring accurate documentation to support warranty claims.
- Conduct road tests on repaired vehicles to ensure proper functionality and quality of repairs; verify that vehicles are returned to customers in clean condition, maintaining a high standard of customer satisfaction.
- Stay up to date with technical skills and attend sponsored training classes.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to dealership policies for workspace cleanliness.
- Follow dealership safety procedures and Canadian Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, including the use of PPE (safety glasses, steel-toe footwear, etc.), regular tool and equipment inspection, and the identification and reporting of any hazards to management.
- Perform other related duties as requested by management.
What You Bring:
- A valid Automotive Service Technician (310S) License.
- A valid Ontario Class ‘G’ Driver’s License and a clean driver’s abstract is required.
- 2+ years of experience as licensed 310S Technician, with a strong technical and mechanical aptitude.
- Experience with all makes and all models is considered an asset due to our high volume used vehicle department.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Compensation:
- Daytime shift (7 AM to 5 PM): $36 per flat-rate hour for Customer/Internal service work, $40 per flat-rate hour for warranty work, plus production bonus eligibility.
- Evening shift (5 PM to 12 AM): $40 per flat-rate hour plus production bonus eligibility.
