Responsibilities & Expectations:
We are looking for a talented Mechanic to join our team. As a Mechanic for IPS you will be providing mechanical services for electric motor repairs and rebuilding electrical power products, including participation in daily operational discussions and workspace organization, mechanical rebuilds on rotating apparatus repairs are conducted using manual machine tools and balancing equipment, ensuring precision and adherence to safety protocols. Provide mechanical services on electric motor repairs and rebuild electrical power products.
- Participate in daily operations discussions on customer products.
- Organization of workspace, following shop flow structures and services.
- Training will be provided on specific areas that are identified by the Repair manager.
- Perform mechanical rebuilds on rotating apparatus repairs like electric motors, pumps, and fans.
- Utilize manual machine tools and balancing equipment for rotating machinery, adhering to safety protocols.
- Demonstrate precision in interpreting drawings, sketches, and blueprints for machining tasks.
- Operate a variety of manual machining tools, such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drills, while also conducting mechanical measurements using portable instruments like dial indicators and micrometers.
- Be able to communicate with Customer Service reps and Manager on parts required for the job.
- Ensure proper procedures and standards follow CSA, ISO, EASA and IPS Standard of Work (SOW) requirements.
- Participate in the Continuance Improvement culture including the use of UCE 1 & 4 boards.
- Responsible for following Work plans, OPS scheduling, and time estimates to the work operation.
- Work with other technicians to meet a common goal in larger repairs and customer expectations.
- Unmatched Customer Experience of quality and delivery are being met.
- Ensure the safety of yourself and your co-workers, understanding the safety hazards of a job.
- Assistance in some Field service work installing motors, fans, and other items of a mechanical nature.
Qualifications and Competencies:
- Must have a strong technical background with electrical and/or mechanical products, prefer experience in mechanical jobs and/or Millwright/Machinist certifications.
- Must be organized with daily tasks.
- Must have good communication skills and be able to communicate with other staff members about the jobs being performed.
- Must have own basic tools to perform the work. Specialized tools are provided by the company.
- Must be able to work full-time Monday through Friday and sometimes weekends, if required.
