Position Type: Permanent Fulltime

Over the last 47 years, Gastops has built a robust business which is recognized worldwide for its innovative contributions to equipment health management in the aviation, energy, marine, industrial and transportation industries. Gastops’ products and services add value throughout the life cycle of complex critical equipment from the design stage through to in-service operations and support. We design, manufacture, and support advanced equipment sensing and analysis products, including on-line oil debris sensors, torque measurement sensors, turbine blade health sensors, and at-line oil analysis systems.

Based in St. John's, Newfoundland the Laboratory Technician will report to the Operations Manager and will have a wide range of duties all of which are in the spirit of ensuring the maintenance of all the records for every oil sample that is analyzed in the facility are properly maintained.

What You’ll Do:

Receive, process, and analyze samples of oil and other fluids in a timely manner and with a high level of accuracy.
Operate laboratory equipment in accordance with established procedures.
Collect and interpret data.
Enter and maintain data in company software and/or ERP systems.
Report analysis results using both automated and manual reporting tools.
Communicate with customers and deliver reports in a professional manner, providing excellent customer service at all times.
Work efficiently to maintain a high level of On Time Delivery of results to customers.
Perform and/or facilitate maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.
Safely handle and store chemicals, compressed gas cylinders, and other laboratory materials in accordance with SDS sheets and other requirements.
Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
Generate and maintain accurate records and traceability for all lab samples.
Perform quality control (QA) checks as required to maintain accuracy of results.
Ensure all relevant lab cleanliness standards are upheld.
Participate in safety, quality, and process improvement initiatives as required.
Provide technical support and/or training to customers as required.

What You Bring:

Relevant technical diploma/degree or equivalent experience.
Experience in a laboratory setting is an asset.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Experience using ERP and/or other systems used to enter, analyze, and store data.
Demonstrated ability to work in accordance with established processes.
Eligible to obtain a Security Clearance (NATO Level Clearance and Controlled Goods)

Salary Range for this position: $46,000–$54,000 (final compensation will be based on experience, skills, and fit)
