Full job description

Madsen's Custom Cabinets is the leading manufacturer of Custom Architectural Millwork and Cabinetry in Alberta for over 60 years. Madsen's is currently looking for a skilled Journeyperson millwork installer.

Requirements

Minimum 4 year experience in Architectural Millwork and cabinet industry
Ability to read and completely understand construction drawings.
Ability to travel to job sites around the Edmonton area.
Good communication skills.
Good hand-eye coordination.
Able to work independently or as part of a team.
Candidate must display a high degree of manual dexterity and have basic hand tool knowledge.
Candidate must have strong math skills , focus and attention to detail and accuracy.
Candidate must have complete knowledge of millwork assembly and joinery techniques
Candidate must be familiar with standard millwork hardware installation , operation and adjustments

Key Responsibilities

Work and communicate with fellow staff and customers
Candidate must have the ability to completely understand and interpret blueprints and shop drawings.
Candidate must have the ability to interpret design intent from shop drawings and install in a manner consistent with the design intent with minimal supervision
Journeyperson should have the ability to install complex desks, wall panelling, cabinet units, man doors and frames, countertops and various custom millwork with minimal supervision

Able to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent written communication
Strong organizational skills are a must
High attention to detail
Disciplined with ability to give and take critical feedback
Confidence in decision making

Work Conditions

Able to work in a fast-paced working environment to meet tight deadlines
Able to stand for duration of working hours
Position includes time within indoor site locations primarily around the Edmonton area with some out of town work as well.
