The Senior HR Advisor is a permanent full-time role located in Acheson and serves as a trusted partner to leaders and employees leveraging a deep understanding of business needs to deliver strategic and operational human resources support. Reporting to the Team Lead, HR Operations, this role provides expert guidance on HR programs, policies, practices, employee relations, as well as recruitment and onboarding.
The role is integral within the HR team to provide expertise and guidance in all HR related matters to all levels of the organization. The role also mentors and develops junior HR team members, leads complex HR projects and initiatives, and translates business needs into impactful talent strategies supporting organizational goals and drive employee engagement, performance and growth.

WHAT WE REQUIRE:
Responsibilities:
Sr. HR Advisory and Employee Relations
- Serve as the primary HR resource for an assigned client group, providing day-to-day guidance on employee relations, performance management, and other talent matters
- Partner with leaders to execute a variety of HR programs and initiatives, support employee lifecycle changes, and ensure alignment with organizational objectives
- Provide advice and recommendations on employee leaves, accommodations, and other workplace requests, providing clear, actionable guidance ensuring compliance with applicable policies and legislation.
- Lead and advise on complex employee relations matters, including performance management, workplace investigations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions and terminations.
- Ensure HR practices are consistent, fair, and in accordance with employment legislation, organizational policies and company values.
- Coach and support leaders in effectively managing employee performance, engagement and development while promoting consistent, fair and legally compliant HR practices.
Recruitment and Onboarding
- Support hiring managers with recruitment planning, candidate screening, and onboarding activities to ensure smooth experience for new employees.
- Coordinate onboarding processes and provide guidance to leaders to ensure a consistent and positive new employee experience
- Support and assist in planning recruitment events (career fairs, etc.) and contribute ideas to attract top talent.
HR Team and Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with HR colleagues across functions (Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Payroll/Benefits, Learning/Development) to deliver integrated, business aligned solutions
- Lead or contribute to HR projects, organizational effectiveness initiatives, policy development and continuous improvement efforts
- Analyze and interpret HR metrics, workforce trends, and employee engagement data to inform and support client group decision-making
Project Coordination and HR Effectiveness
- Lead and support HR projects and initiatives ensuring deliverables are achieved on time, within scope, and aligned with organizational priorities
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Human resources, or a related discipline or equivalently weighted years of experience.
- CPHR designation (or actively working towards the designation) is preferred.
- RPR designation (or in progress) is considered an asset.
- Minimum 8-10 years of HR experience, with exposure to complex employee relations; experience in oilfield services is considered an asset
- Demonstrated experience in a client-facing or advisory HR role, directly supporting leaders and business units
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook.
- Experience with UKG or other HR Systems is considered an asset.
- Assess HR processes, systems, and workflows to identify opportunities for efficiency and standardization
- Track and report on project outcomes, leveraging insights to collaborate with the HR team on process improvements, policies, and programs that enhance the employee experience

- Strong ability to be proactive and take initiative to identify and address an improvement or need
- A strong aptitude towards technology and learning various software and programs with proven ability in data analytics and validation.
