Full job description

Hotel Grand Pacific is seeking a talented Sous Chef to join our Kitchen management team. An independent luxury property home to the highly acclaimed Fathom Restaurant, we’re looking for a Red Seal-certified chef with a positive attitude, proven creativity, and excellent leadership qualities.

This would be a great development opportunity for an experienced Chef de Partie with banqueting experience in a 4 or 5-star property.

Duties:

· Supervise and participate in the day-to-day operation of all Kitchen areas to ensure the highest quality and presentation of products

· Assist with menu development and food presentation specs

· Work with the Executive Chef to prepare the budget

· Assist in conducting monthly staff meetings

· Assist with staff scheduling when required

· Coach and motivate the Kitchen team to success

· Ensure health & safety protocols are followed at all times.

What We’re Looking For:

· Red Seal Certification and at least 5 years of culinary experience that includes supervisory responsibilities

· Minimum 2 years of Banqueting experience

· Previous experience working in a 4 or 5-star property is preferred

· Food Safe Certification

· Professional communication skills and effective delegating skills

· Proven coaching skills and an encouraging, motivating attitude

· Accountable and professional with a high level of integrity

· Able to produce accurate and timely food costs

· Available to work full-time hours AM shifts (Based on business needs)
