As a Tactical Security Guard, you’ll develop real-world experience in incident response, access control, emergency procedures, report writing, de-escalation, and working alongside federal operations — skills that are highly valued across the law enforcement and public safety sector.

For candidates pursuing future careers in policing, border services, corrections, sheriffs, transit enforcement, or other public safety roles, this position provides an excellent stepping stone to build meaningful experience, strengthen your resume, and operate in a high-responsibility environment that mirrors many aspects of law enforcement operations.

This job requisition is for the upcoming GardaWorld Security Services Hiring Event for the Tactical Security Guard (Secure Federal Facility) position. Qualified candidates who meet the minimum requirements will receive an exclusive invitation to attend our in-person Hiring Event on June 15th.

This is not your standard hiring process. This is a highly selective, invitation-only recruitment event designed to identify top-tier security professionals ready to perform in a dynamic federal environment.

Candidates should plan to spend approximately 45 minutes completing the full assessment process. During your scheduled session, you will participate in mandatory in-person testing and screening assessments. Candidates who successfully meet the required standards will move directly into on-the-spot interviews immediately following the assessment phase.

Responsibilities for Tactical Security Guard

Ensure the protection of individuals, property, and assets within the facility
Escort individuals within the premises using restraints as necessary for safety
Demonstrate empathy and compassion while working with individuals under stress
Observe and monitor detainee behaviour and report concerns
Conduct regular foot patrols – both indoors and outdoors
Utilize security software and equipment effectively
Conduct frequent wellness checks
Generate accurate incident and daily reports
Respond swiftly to emergency situations using tactical de-escalation techniques

Qualifications for Tactical Security Guard

Valid BC Security Guard License
Valid First Aid Level 1 (OFA1) - an asset
Advanced Security Training (AST) – an asset
Must have resided in Canada for the past 5 years
High school diploma or equivalent (proof of education required)
Able to pass Public Works Clearance and Vulnerable Sector Check
Demonstrated ability to act decisively in high-pressure situations
Strong communication and customer service skills
