Reporting to our the Manager, the Commercial Underwriting Assistant supports the Underwriting team by processing mid‑market and/or small business commercial accounts. You will be responsible for underwriting support tasks, policy processing, and accurate documentation handling.

How you create impact

Set up and manage client files.
Prepare file for underwriting review and carry out standard underwriting checks to support compliance.
Issue policy documents for endorsements, new business, and renewals.
Respond to broker inquiries on all policy‑related matters, providing accurate and timely information.
Oversee the renewal process and coordinate policy changes & cancellations including invoicing.
Perform additional administrative tasks as required

What we would like you to bring

Minimum 3 years of experience in the commercial insurance industry.
Active Level 1 RIBO license required.
CAIB, CIP, CRM, or equivalent designation (or working toward one) is an asset.
Good understanding of the Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance market including coverage's and wordings.
Demonstrated exposure to underwriting practices and the Lloyd’s marketplace preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
EPIC and Policyworks experience an asset.

Base salary is part of a competitive total rewards package that includes health and dental benefits, a retirement savings plan, and tuition reimbursement. Kuehne+Nagel reviews pay ranges regularly to ensure competitive and fair pay based on industry market data. Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools may be used to support portions of the recruitment process, such as reviewing application materials or assisting with scheduling. These tools analyze information to help inform decision making; however, all hiring decisions are made by human reviewers. #LI-KE1
