Job Overview
CygniSoft Staffing is currently recruiting on behalf of our client, a leading company in the warehouse and food distribution industry, for a skilled and dedicated Butcher position in Georgetown, Ontario. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in meat processing and butchery who are committed to quality, food safety, and operational excellence. The successful candidate will join a fast-paced production environment where attention to detail, teamwork, and adherence to industry standards are essential.

Key Responsibilities

Cut, debone, trim, and prepare beef, pork, poultry (turkey and chicken), and other meat products according to company specifications and quality standards.
Shape, tie, secure, portion, and package meat products for retail, wholesale, or food service distribution.
Operate and maintain butcher tools, machinery, and equipment safely and efficiently.
Inspect meat products to ensure quality, freshness, and compliance with company and regulatory standards.
Monitor inventory levels, estimate product requirements, and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
Ensure proper stock rotation, storage, labeling, and handling of all meat products.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment at all times.
Adhere to all Freshouse Foods policies and procedures, including HACCP requirements, CFIA regulations, and workplace health and safety standards.
Follow established food safety, sanitation, and quality control procedures to minimize waste and ensure product integrity.
Collaborate effectively with team members to meet production schedules and customer requirements.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

Previous experience as a Butcher, Meat Cutter, or in a meat processing/food production environment.
Experience handling and processing beef and pork cuts is strongly preferred.
Knowledge of meat cutting techniques, portioning, trimming, and deboning procedures.
Familiarity with HACCP, CFIA regulations, food safety standards, and sanitation practices.
Ability to safely operate knives, saws, grinders, slicers, and other meat processing equipment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
Good organizational and inventory management skills.
Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of safety and cleanliness.
Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg), and work in refrigerated environments.

Preferred Qualifications

Food Safety Certification or equivalent training.
Experience working in a federally or provincially regulated food manufacturing facility.
Knowledge of inventory control and stock management practices.
