Full job description

We have a fantastic 3-month contract to perm opportunity for an experienced, well-rounded, resourceful, and hands-on Junior Accountant who wants to join a stable, growing, and reputable professional services company.

Who- the Company:

Our client, a small business consulting firm, is a well-established and respected organization based in Port Coquitlam, BC. The group operates across multiple entities within the professional services sector and is known for its strong reputation, stability, and commitment to operational excellence.
The organization offers a collaborative, down-to-earth working environment where employees are trusted, supported, and expected to take ownership of their work. As the business continues to grow and expand, the finance function is becoming increasingly important in supporting scalable and accurate financial operations.
What- the Role:
Reporting to the Controller, and supporting the Director of Finance & Operations, the Accountant will be a crucial member of the team. This role will be responsible for overseeing the accounts payable and receivable, processing payroll, and conducting other tasks related to finance. See other responsibilities below:

Tracking expenses, budget, cash flow, receipts, and other financial dealings of the company.
Providing regular financial reports (weekly, monthly, and yearly).
Monitor accounts payable and receivable.
Ensuring timely processing of payroll.
Manage day to day transactions.
Bank reconciliations.
Ensuring invoices and billing work are up to date.
Making efficiency improvements to accounting functions.

Who- the Candidate:

We are seeking a professional and experienced Junior Accountant with a strong work ethic.

3-5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
Must be confident and able to hit the ground running with minimal supervision.
Must have experience with AP/AR and comfortable with payroll processing.
Local candidate willing to work on-site in Port Coquitlam, BC on a full-time basis.
Hardworking, professional, detail-oriented, and great communicator.

Where:
Based in Port Coquitlam- 15-minute walk from the nearest SkyTrain station, and close by to many amenities like restaurants and shops. Full-time in office. A convenient location for those located in Port Moody, Coquitlam, or Tri-Cities.

How Much:

Competitive base salary commensurate with experience and skills. The hourly rate for this role is $28- 32/ hour + 4% vacation pay in lieu. Unfortunately, benefits are not included with this position.
