Why We Need You:
The Creative team is responsible for shaping how customers experience the Article brand across channels. As we continue to grow, we need an experienced Art Director who can translate strategic direction into high-impact creative campaigns that strengthen our brand and create meaningful connections with customers while supporting business goals.
This role will work to build out a consistent, scalable, and commercially effective brand presence across all of these consumer-facing channels. You'll help elevate our visual storytelling along with strengthening creative standards. The Art Director, Campaigns reports to the Manager, Creative Direction and partners closely with the Manager, Copy and Design; the Manager, Photo and Video Production; and the Category and Marketing teams.
We’re looking for someone who has diverse experience, having worked with graphic designers, copywriters, and has experience on set for photo and video shoots.

Define and execute the creative vision for commercial campaigns and marketing assets
- Translate brand positioning and strategic direction into cohesive, high-value visual narratives
- Develop campaign concepts and creative deliverables that align with brand standards and business objectives
- Direct live and virtual location or studio shoots, providing real-time aesthetic oversight on lighting, set styling, and framing
- Lead cross-functional client exploration sessions with partners to understand project needs and deliverable requirements
- Build internal creative briefs that connect commercial objectives with creative execution.
- Develop creative plans, style requirements, and visual references that align stakeholders and inspire production teams
Aesthetic Quality Control
- Maintain exceptional standards for visual execution, composition, and mood across all creative deliverables
- Review campaign assets, delivering constructive, objective feedback to specialty execution teams
- Audit final asset suites across channels to ensure a consistent and cohesive brand experience
- Act as the primary authority for creative quality and consistency on assigned projects in alignment with Creative Direction’s overarching brand vision and final approval standards
- Collaborate with Creative Direction to develop and maintain creative standards and brand guidelines
- Help ensure consistency, scalability, and cohesion across Article's visual brand expression
- Support the evolution of creative processes and documentation that strengthen brand alignment across teams
- We use G Suite (Gmail, Sheets, Google Docs, Meet, etc) to work and Slack to collaborate and communicate, with your choice of Mac or PC device.

7+ years of experience in Art Direction, Creative Direction, or commercial campaign production
- Extensive knowledge of commercial campaign development, visual ideation, and translating high-level aesthetic guidelines or complex brand positions into high-value visual stores
- Deep expertise in photography, lighting, composition, framing, and set styling
- Experience directing studio shoots, copy, and graphic design, an asset
- Strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional visual storytelling, creative concept development, and commercial campaign work
- Experience developing and maintaining brand guidelines, creative standards, and style system
- Experience partnering with cross-functional stakeholders and managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience mentoring and providing constructive feedback to creative contributors and specialty teams
- Legally able to work in Canada
- Completion of criminal background check
Wealth:
- The salary range is $95,000 to $107,000
- Starting salary is determined by your transferable skills, knowledge, work experience, and the hiring team’s budget, which is based on business needs, market compensation data, and internal equity
