Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Bakery Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting customers, managing food preparation, and maintaining a clean and organized bakery environment. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced food industry setting, providing excellent customer service while ensuring food safety and sanitation standards are met. The Bakery Clerk plays a vital role in creating a welcoming atmosphere and ensuring the bakery operates smoothly and efficiently.

Responsibilities

Greet customers warmly and assist with their selections of baked goods and other products
Prepare and package baked items accurately, adhering to food safety standards
Operate POS system, , for cash handling and transactions
Upsell bakery items to enhance customer experience and increase sales
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the bakery area, including equipment and work surfaces
Restock shelves with fresh products as needed and organize displays for visual appeal
Manage time effectively to ensure timely service during busy periods
Handle cash register operations accurately, including processing payments and giving change
Assist with food handling tasks such as slicing, wrapping, and packaging baked goods, deli and cheese products
Follow all food safety guidelines and sanitation procedures in accordance with health regulations

Skills

Experience in food preparation, food service, or cashiering is preferred
Strong customer service skills with a friendly demeanor
Knowledge of POS systems, for efficient transactions
Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently
Basic math skills for cash handling and transaction accuracy
Understanding of food safety standards and proper sanitation practices
Ability to upsell products effectively to enhance sales opportunities
Previous restaurant or food industry experience is a plus but not required
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
