The Canadian Coast Guard (CCG) is a special operating agency within National Defence. We work to ensure the safety of mariners in Canadian waters and protect Canada’s marine environment. We support Canada’s economic growth through the safe and efficient movement of maritime trade. We help to ensure our country’s sovereignty and security through our presence in Canadian waters.
The Canadian Coast Guard Academy is the national maritime training facility of the Canadian Coast Guard. The CCG Academy develops and delivers specialized training and services in French and English to support our mission and mandate in marine safety, security and environmental protection. Their unique and specialized training is sought after by organizations around the world. Each year, highly trained graduates join their colleagues as Coast Guard officers to provide services that are critical to Canadians.
Intent of the process
A pool of partially or essentially qualified candidates may be established through this process and used to staff identical or similar positions with various employment tenures (temporary and permanent), language profiles, operational requirements, and conditions of employment at the Canadian Coast Guard.

ED1: Diploma in Marine Engineering from a Canadian Marine Training Institute ; OR
ED2: Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Engineering Technology Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Instrumentation, Electronics and Control Engineering ; OR
ED3: Relevant Occupational Certification (Instrumentation and Monitoring, Controls or Electrical)

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS:
Education (Asset):
AED1: Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in Education.
AED2: Certification in adult education

AOC1: Certificate of Competency, Second-Class Engineer (or higher), Motor Ship, or combined issued by Transport Canada.
AOC2: Certificate of Competency (STCW) as Electro Technical Officer.
Experience (Asset):
AEX1: Teaching experience in the field of engineering
AEX2: Teaching experience in Electro technology and High Voltage
AEX3: Experience as Chief or Senior Engineer on Canadian Coast Guard vessels
AEX4: Experience as Chief or senior engineering Officer on merchant marine vessels
AEX5: Experience as Electrical Officer on Canadian Coast Guard or merchant marine vessels
Knowledge (Asset):
AK1: Knowledge of lesson plan development
