Full job description

Responsibilities:

- Sandblasting rock crushing and construction equipment, as needed

Able to set up and operate manual/automatic sandblasting equipment.
Select appropriate paint or mix paints using automated paint mixing equipment
Maintain equipment to clean, wash, strip, sand, remove corrosion, fill dents or otherwise prepare items for application of paint

- Maintenance on Sandblasting Booth

- Assisting in the operations of crushing concrete/equipment maintenance when not Sandblasting.

Description:

We crush concrete and buy and sell rock crushing equipment (stackers, loaders, crushers etc). When equipment comes in, it will be your responsibility to sandblast/paint them so that the equipment can be sold. We expect the candidate to be precise and efficient. When you are not sandblasting you will be assisting our Concrete Crushing crew where needed (and training/experience allows) or maintaining rock crushing equipment as needed. This job involves heavy lifting, working in inclement weather, and being aware of your surroundings in a busy crushing pit/quarry.

Work Experience:

The candidate we are looking for must have 1-3 years experience with sandblasting and performing weekly maintenance on the blaster itself. Machine shop experience is preferred, specifically with fork trucks, skid steers, and air tools.

Skills/Qualifications:

-Operation of Sand Blaster

Able to set up and operate manual/automatic sandblasting equipment.
Able to carry weight in excess of 50lbs.
Responsible for the quality of the completed equipment painted - fine attention to detail
Operation of air gun to paint the masks (prep to finish).
Basic power tool operation.
Must be able to take orders and direction.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
Proven ability to work independently while being a team player.

-Operation of Fork Truck

-Will consistently wear the required P.P.E.

-Punctual, dedicated and efficient

-Must have drivers licence and own, reliable transportation.

-Must have up to date certifications as follows:

WHMIS

WORKER HEALTH & SAFETY AWARENESS IN FOUR STEPS

WORKING AT HEIGHTS

LEAD WORKER TRAINING certificate is an asset but can training can be provided to right candidate, if necessary.

Compensation:

Starting wage ranges from $30-33$/hr depending on work experience. 40 hour work weeks, Monday - Friday, occasionally we work Saturday mornings with prior notice given.
